W/B Human-centric Aggro deck with moderate control capacity and decent defense. I wanted to keep this deck somewhat budget-sensitive, too ($60-70 as of March 2015, Mainboard only).
Not designed for a turn 3 win. It can be fast, but I tried to make it so it can respond to as many situations as possible and hold out for the long haul without being too attached to any one card. Once setup completes, offense gets insane.
Mainboard Notes:Bloodsoaked Champion and Champion of the Parish to rush, with abilities as icing on the cake.
Aegis of the Gods
and Grand Abolisher provide stability, and can be interchanged with any of the many 2cmc white control creatures. Xathrid Necromancer for a zombie engine as kind of a wipe defense, Sun Titan for tougher defenders, but mainly to recur your Xathrids or control creatures, and Doomed Necromancer to recur Sun Titan. Bile Blight is ideal creature removal here, and it can be used to fuel your Zombie engine if you have a resurrect ready.Diabolic Edict can be interchanged with any 2cmc black removal. I like it because it breaks indestructibles and hexproofs. Immortal Servitude is used to pull tons of creatures from the graveyard if needed, and since you can arrange the stack of resurrected creatures, you can make a really big Champion of the Parish, which at the same time makes more fuel for zombies. Increasing Devotion makes HUMAN tokens, unlike all but 2 other token building sorceries (
Gather the Townsfolk
and
Thatcher Revolt
. Same reasons: pumps Parish, fuels zombies.Revoke Existence mostly for white or artifact control (Leyline of Sanctity, Ghostly Prison, etc.) or pesky Gods. Take Deicide as an alternate.
Sideboard Notes:Mana Tithe is an excellent card. Nobody ever sees it coming, and is a complete game-changer when it's used right.
Stain the Mind
and its variants can be used powerfully, hopefully to root out any graveyard hate before it can be used against you (Rest in Peace, etc.). I choose Stain because its ability tunes it towards aggro.
Notable: Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Leonin Arbiter (not a human),
Imposing Sovereign
Downsides: Not much room to change things around, as each card is kind of niched. No flying defense, but I would hope removal is hard enough to keep me going until opponents are down. Breaks down pretty quickly against graveyard hate.
What I'd like from you:Sideboard Help Please!!!!Other than that just general suggestions. Point out if I have any problems I'm not noticing, or suggestions on the mana curve, and of course I'd appreciate other possible combos. Thanks!
P.S. This is the first deck I've ever actually completed the cards for. I'm really new to this. Please let me know any ideas or suggestions for regular deckbuilding too, if it can be helped.
