Nevermind, sideboard has plenty of cards in it lol. I just looked at the numbers again, I would keep what you have but swap the Ravenous Rats and Hypnotic Specters.

Hobbez9186 I almost want to drop the Modern and go Legacy with Dark Ritual sticking with the strictly discard theme.

Well that would change everything lol. You could auto-add 4x Dark Ritual and 4x Hymn to Tourach.
It just depends on where you want to play and what you want to do. Mine is just for casual so I could do whatever I wanted, I just have had the same cards in the same sleeves forever lol. Legacy adds hundreds of more Black cards to the mix. I used to run 4x Culling the Weak to kill my own Ravenous Rats for the 4 mana to play my entire hand by turn 3 or 4, and then it can just be reanimated with Unearth. Even chump blockers and mini ramp like Blood Pet were nice to get everything going as fast as possible.
Up to you.

I'd keep it modern and make a separate legacy deck. At least on here, you can still build whichever one you want to actually play with.

It would 100% make the deck more powerful. I think I may do that and use it as my casual deck that way I can still use it and it's actually pretty competitive.
I'm going to run the Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank infinite combo deck in Modern until it gets banned.

I'll leave it as is here. I can take out some card to make it modern again if need be. I find mana to be the issue with the Modern deck.. hence the request for Dark Ritual

I just propose that you repost a new deck with the changes away from modern because every folder this deck has been added to on this site is labeled "modern" by all the people that have been drawn to it.
I think it would be nice to preserve it that way :)

Hm, well it does only happen the once though. It could be a nice upgrade on the Ravenous Rats since it does the same thing. The extra mana cost could be worth it because it flies and does an extra damage. The only small issue is that it wouldn't be out until turn 3. However, you can still drop Affliction on turn one, Augur on turn two, and then either Specter on turn 3.
I'd try it. Move the Rats to any open spots on the sideboard (I think it is under 15 now) and replace them with Liliana's Specter. Rats are still a good option to speed up the deck if you need to by lowering the average cmc. Either way, they are nice to return to your hand and replay with Call to the Netherworld and force another discard.
