Not odd at all, play testing it seems like it would be good. I keep finding myself mana rich and nothing to spend it on. Board presence with Hydras and monstrosity seems like a way to keep getting value, but direct damage with Banefire seems good as a 2 or 3 of for sure. I'm toying with splashing some stomping grounds and go a little deeper on burn.

I love little decks like this. If it goes off properly it can take alot of people by surprise. Nicely done!

Thanks Hunter.
If I had a more casual place to play instead of my FNM environment where every one runs tier 1 I'd take it for a spin. I'm gonna keep working it, if I can get the consistency smoothed out it would be a fun diversion from my normal deck.

Mistcutter Hydra Might be worth looking at. I would definitely put in the sideboard as it is uncounterable which might be crucial in some match ups. If mainboard it also has haste!

I have a similar deck, as in it uses Arbor Elf and Overgrowth, and I use Genesis Wave to get a ton of permanents out. I also run some massive creatures like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Worldspine Wurm that come out with Genesis Wave. You probably have a different play style but if you want big creatures, that's my suggestion.

I've definitely looked at building a Genesis wave deck, right now this is more an exercise in getting the most power out of a next to nothing budget. Bang for buck and casual. I will give your deck a peruse and see if I can get some ideas though, thanks.

i'd add Genesis Wave if possible, in the midle of the combo so you don't mill yourself out

Faith's Shield seems every bit as good as Apostle's Blessing, if not better, IMO. And while, no, it won't protect you from Artifacts, it will protect Enchantments, Lands, Planeswalkers and for a lower CMC and it has the Fateful Hour potency that could be a game changer.
You might also consider Fleecemane Lion as a mana-sink, or even Arbor Colossus, or Colossus of Akros, and of course, the ever useful Rancor.

Thank for the suggestions, I'll do some playing around. I've really been thinking that in order to take this to the next level I'm probably gonna need to splash white for Steelshaper's Gift. That would make Faiths Shield an easy add. Post sideboard I can see quite a bit of hate comming out that would easily shut this deck down, being able to protect Overgrowth or Umbral Mantle would be great.

also, Alpha Authority is a little cheaper to drop than Swiftfoot Boots, though you lose the Haste bit with it.

If you generate infinite mana so fast, consider the Helix Pinnacle. The win condition is delayed until your next turn, but it's a funny card for a funny deck like this one.

Alpha Authority is definitely worth considering, so far in play testing Swiftfoot has been somewhat awkward and haste has rarely been relevant.
Unfortunately infinite mana is not as likely to happen as an infinitely large dork. Helix Pinnacle is indeed a silly card but to big of an if.

That's been my experience with Swiftfoot Boots as well, though, frankly, Alpha Authority wasn't much better. I think that's because as permanents, they sit there out in the open, just waiting to get destroyed. And then we've wasted a spot in the deck and casting mana for something that ultimately just makes our target creatures targets for opponents. Whereas cards like Faith's Shield and Apostle's Blessing intervene when our permanents are under threat, allowing opponents to use up destroy spells to no effect. The difference being that they don't see how our creatures are going to be protected and are thus unable to stratagize accordingly. Also, the protection offered by Instants is usually a lower CMC, and also doubles as an offensive card.

Canopy Cover was the card I think I needed to replace the Swiftboots.

kinda hard not to just chuck the deck and build one around Invisible Stalker Although, there is Silhana Ledgewalker - an Elf, even - which you might find useful. Having a creature enter the battlefield with the abilities is much better than stacking Enchantment Auras.

Not to many ways to make a deck that can produce an infinite amount of infinitely large oozes on turn three as a backup win-con... The silliness of the deck is the beauty of it.

I think you could easily sneak white in there just by using basic duel lands and utopia sprawl.
Or try Ancient Stirrings

Canopy Vista, Riftstone Portal, Temple Garden, Razorverge Thicket, Sunpetal Grove.
I would take out Nylea and Pred Strike, and add Fog

Thanks' for the suggestions. I really like the Ancient Stirrings and will look at some spots for it. The trample with Nylea and Predator's Strike is really essential to the strategy. A billion/billion Arbor Elf can still be chump blocked. Staying with the $30 budget doesn't give me much room even for the cheapest of lands. I will definitely be adding some with another build.

Just stumbled upon Magus of the Candelabra today, I'm not sure if this could actually end up being of any use to the deck, considering the dorks already there get the job done well enough. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

This might seem odd but due to the Fertile Ground I'd suggest Banefire as if you get your loop off its uncounterable and damage can't be prevented. Also possible are Imperious Perfect and Intruder Alarm as they net you infinite Elves.
