Owling Mine was a modern deck that used cards such as Howling Mine to draw both you and your opponent cards, and cards like Ebony Owl Netsuke to use that to their disadvantage, much like a Nekusar, the Mindrazer EDH deck. Now, with the arrival of Journey into Nyx, we have the pieces for a similar deck in standard!

                      ------ The Draw Engines ------

Dictate of Kruphix: a blue Howling Mine with flash. It gives you card advantage while punishing your opponent. Perfect for this deck!

Whispering Madness: Gives your opponent lots of drawing cards, but without any real card advantage. Plus, the cipher lets it happen several times!

Master of the Feast: Not only does it give your opponent extra cards to punish them with, but it has an undercosted body to boot!

Jace, Memory Adept: That ultimate...

                           --- The Punishers ---

Fate Unraveler: Combos with any of the draw engines. This can amount to some serious damage.

Stormbreath Dragon: A great aggro card to deal damage with, and its monstrosity ability combos with the draw engines very well!

Thoughtsieze: With all that drawing, their best card will undoubtedly be in their hand...

Toil//Trouble: Their hand will very likely be HUGE! On the other side, its a draw engine as well!

Underworld Connections: These cards are just for me!

Hero's Downfall: Great removal against creatures and planeswalkers alike!

Lightning Strike: It can be removal, but is very useful when your opponent is at 3 life.
