Lol. i remember you suggesting them. It was very nice too see. I love how we have a community that can work on these things together. Given that i work 7 days a week i don't always get out to play magic as much as i'd like. My wife hates playing against this deck and she wants to steal it from me :P. Thanks for creating a domestic disturbance ... GAWD!!!

DaigarStrasis: Yeah! It was an inspired suggestion.

When I first tried it in my version, it was that "Eureka!" moment, where I said to myself, "I need to share this with all the like-minded individuals like myself."

Hell ya DaigarStrasis, i'm glad you did. I wish Shriekmaw had flash, but meh, still a good card :P

DaigarStrasis: Do you have a decklist with the deck you're talking about? I'd like to see what you're running.

BattleWalrus I love hearing stories like that. I had no idea when I started building this deck that it would become what it is, and would be such a popular deck on T/O. It actually started out, oddly enough, running Endless Ranks of the Dead , if that gives you an idea of how much it has evolved, thanks to all the great feedback and suggestions I've gotten from people.

the only difference our decks have NOW, is I run Godless Shrine Marsh Flats Verdant Catacombs Overgrown Tomb . and Extirpate in the side, that is about it I think. I haven't used the deck in a while, about 3 months or so.

Maybe Alliance of Arms could work

Nice to see people thinking outside the box to outwit flavour-of-the-week gimmick decks.

teslamon: Alliance of Arms would be cool, but it is not modern legal unfortunately. If you were playing kitchen table with this deck, that would be a fun card in here.

Ragnarocker: Thanks! I am glad you like it. Whenever people ask me what kind of modern deck I run, my only response is that it's probably nothing they've ever played against before.

It would probably be more beneficial to run Faith's Shield instead of Dawnfluke . Or even more Mark of Asylum . Dawnfluke seems more sideboard material against aggro decks, and you'd be able to prevent a lot more types of removal with Faith's Shield , making your pivotal enchantments left in play.

Femme_Fatale: The reason I run Dawnfluke is because it gives me a creature entering the battlefield trigger under my control for Soul Warden and Suture Priest , and a trigger for Blood Artist when I evoke it.

Just card ideas that would fit this ETB deck: Auriok Champion and Spirit Bonds

DaigarStrasis says... #16

It would NOT be beneficial to replace Dawnfluke however, maybe you could replace Mark of Asylum not sure about that one. I still am liking the deck how it is. Where are our results dude!? How is it doing for ya?

The mana cost would be pretty tough to swing in this build, but I like the idea.

what about ajani's pridemate? you have a lot of single life gain that can trigger him

joking_pumpkin: He has been in this deck before. I found he was too slow when I played with him. He can be handy for popping with Mercy Killing while Illness in the Ranks and Blood Artist are down, but he doesn't grow quite fast enough for this deck.

Pridemate doesnt really fit into the strategy of giving the opponent lots of tokens they can't attack with, and then slaughtering them all and laughing.

I really think that Detention Sphere would be a nice substitute for Oblivion Ring considering the amount of tokens going onto their board. Just drop a Detention Sphere and say good bye to all those pesky 1/1's

I added couple spare Hallowed Fountain and made Detention Sphere more viable. I think it's definitely better than Oblivion Ring in few games that I played.

Mana Confluence instead of City of Brass . Then perhaps one or two of your own Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth s to prevent the damage from Mana Confluence and to allow your fetches to tap for mana as well. Even if you aren't going to use Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth , Mana Confluence is still better because your opponent may be using it.
