Eddie1332: I don't come across Torpor Orb a ton, but Detention Sphere does the trick. Maybe toss some additional artifact hate in your sideboard if it's being a problem.
I thought about using Dovescape, but the mana cost is just too much. It would be a blast though. I use that card in EDH sometimes, and it's a nightmare.

i'm sure you've already looked at Soul Warden, but if you haven't, then its essentially a second playset of Soul's Attendant.

Silumgar, the Drifting Death could be a fitting addition to this deck

TwoMagicDudes hi guys. I'm in the middle of building this deck and found that the price for Serum Visions is causing me trouble. Do you think that replacing it with Index or Gitaxian Probe is a good idea?

consider Monastery Mentor for the deck? I have a deck similar to this and have it as a 2-of in it. If it stays on board all your nonland, noncreature spells feed bullets into the deck's gun of tokens for etb damage.

McSween7 Yeah, I'd say either of those would make for perfectly acceptable budget alternatives to Serum Visions.
DaigarStrasis: Not a bad idea! I like the way you think.

This is awesome. +1 Finally someone is making good use of the hunted creatures.

Thanks, Tomnofx. It is a fun deck to play. Torpor Orb can be a fun way to mess with hunted cards, and has its own place in the meta at times, but obviously this ends up being a little more satisfying.
I'm kind of curious about the possibilities for Bitter Ordeal in this deck. Since I'm putting an awful lot of permanents into graveyards, it seems like just getting one of those out could potentially be enough to break an opponent's deck. Cloudshifting a Hunted Phantasm and tapping a Forbidden Orchard to do it puts six copies of it on the stack. That's that's not easy to recover from.

I can imagine the satisfaction you get out of it, and I like the versatility, it's not a deck you come across often. Torpor Orb is broken in these kind of decks.
That'd be so nice tech there if you can manage to pull it off. That can really turn the game in your favour. Give it a try. You've got nothing to lose.

You have spellskite on your maybeboard, what would you recommend removing for X spellskite(s)?
July 6, 2015 2:11 a.m.
My god. I have been working on a build similar to this for a year now and it is nowhere close to this for stability. Massive props and +1. This is my primary build Illness in the Orchard.

Woaaw! <3 I love this deck, I've commented before since I have a very similar deck, not as much balanced and perfect as this, but it may be more powerful tho'... :)
I use Massacre Wurm, but im sure you have a reason not to, for example its pretty slow... Either way +1 again! And please take a quick look at my deck again, it has changed a lot since last time you checked it out for me :) !

Superwalnut: Well, Spellskite would be a sideboard card for sure. I'd board it in against burn and discard (especially burn, since this deck does rely on your creatures staying alive--hence the Mark of Asylum already in the sideboard.
Imp_Storm: Thank you for the kind words! I am glad you like it. I will take a look at your build too, and feature it in the deck description with the others.
zZAZz: I was tempted by Hunted Troll but he would be my only green card in the deck (aside for Mercy Killing, which I cast for white.) With Hunted Phantasm being unblockable and Hunted Troll being easily chumped, and pumping out fewer tokens, I don't think he is right for this build, but for a green variant, yes, he is great.
You are right about Massacre Wurm, though he might be fun as a one-of. He is straight up a good card, I just worry about having him stuck in my hand. Six mana is a lot in any modern deck that isn't running lots of ramp--again, probably a better choice in a green deck.

What about Propaganda instead of Ghostly Prison...it does the exact same thing, but is less expensive?
January 2, 2016 7:25 p.m.
What about something like Supreme Verdict-a board wipe in case everything goes south.

Not a bad sideboard idea. Typically, your Ghostly Prison and Batwing Brume should be keeping wipes unnecessary, but if you find it's helpful, then it's definitely a good option.

Okay-I was thinking about Zealous Persecution too?? It would kill tokens and also even Noble Hierarchs, for example. Then again, you probably don't want to be attacking with those Suture Priests. But it's a thought.

I think if you're going for that kind of effect, Sudden Spoiling might be better. If they are swinging at you with creatures you need to get rid of, and Detention Sphere, Path to Exile, Ghostly Prison, etc... aren't helping, a spoiling could be fun.
March 16, 2016 4:16 p.m.
No I meant Zealous Persecution to be used as a method of killing tokens, on top of Illness in the Ranks
March 16, 2016 4:19 p.m.
NoSoyYucateco says... #25
Yeah, you could use Zealous Persecution for that. I find that getting rid of the tokens tends to not be a problem, though. If they stay on the board for any length of time, they are so fun to Batwing Brume.

I'm thinking about running a similiar deck. but, how would you recommend playing against a Torpor Orb or similiar?
