Hey guys!

I'm currently deciding on my favourite Sultai Commander - Sidisi or Yarok? - so I figured, since I have a Sidisi deck, I may as well make a Yarok deck too. Enjoy!

So since Yarok is an Elemental, and Risen Reef exists, I figured it's borderline criminal not to run a small Elemental package. There's also a little Elfball, but that's mostly for ramp. This is mostly ramping the heck out of your deck, then getting serious value through cards like Mulldrifter and Prime Speaker Zegana, and eventually getting a combo onto the board. Tooth and Nail can do this quite well - such as fetching Deadeye Navigator and Peregrine Drake, or a combo piece plus Duskwatch Recruiter but don't make my mistake and forget to have a counterspell ready in case someone tries to shut it down.

Combos:

  • Cloud of Faeries + Shrieking Drake + Yarok / Panharmonicon = infinite land mana

  • Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake = infinite land mana

  • Palinchron + Yarok / Panharmonicon = infinite land mana

  • Yarok / Panharmonicon + Risen Reef + Tatyova, Benthic Druid + Master of Waves = put a lot of lands onto the battlefield and draw a lot of cards

  • Yarok / Panharmonicon + Peregrine Drake + Cloudstone Curio = the Curio line (see below)

The Curio line:

  1. With Yarok and the Curio on the field, cast Peregrine Drake. Yarok will cause two Drake triggers and two Curio triggers. Stack the triggers with the Drake triggers on top, then the Curio triggers.

  2. Resolve the first Drake trigger, and untap five lands.

  3. Tap five lands in response to the second Drake trigger.

  4. Resolve the second Drake trigger, and untap five lands.

  5. Tapping these lands will give a total of ten mana.

  6. Resolve the first Curio trigger, returning Yarok to your hand. Ignore the second trigger, as it's a "may".

  7. Cast Yarok with 5 of the 10 mana, triggering the Curio to return the Drake to your hand. Ignore the second trigger.

  8. Cast the Drake with the last 5 mana.

  9. Repeat the process from step 1 to make infinite ETB triggers.

Replace Yarok with any other creature 5 mana or below to loop its effect (Yarok must be on the field); if the creature is 4 mana or below, you can also make infinite mana.

Most reliable infinite mana outlet is Torment of Hailfire. If you don't have it when you make infinite mana, then you can Duskwatch Recruiter to fetch all of your creatures, including Spellseeker, who can fetch Hailfire. Alternatively, all of the above combos draw your deck with Guardian Project. Finally, you can also mill your opponents out with Altar of the Brood.
