OGW: Eldrazi Displacer

Blue/White is, by far, my least favorite color match-up. The Azorius mentality of lockdown and evasion frustrates and torments my adrenaline-fueled, barbarian mindset, leading to a loathing for control decks, the realization that I will never win anything at FNM, and far, far too many flipped tables and broken friendships.

So imagine my perplexity when an MtG friend gave me a holographic Venser, the Sojourner for my birthday a few years ago. My dull, piggy eyes strained to comprehend how this could make my creatures bigger, deal more damage, or do anything worthwhile at all really. I spurned the gift and sentenced it to molder away in my binder for years, never to know the joy of combat.

Fast forward to last week: I haven't built an EDH deck in ages, and my meta-game has grown tired and stale. My own decks grow dusty with disuse, and i question my involvement in the game at all. Despair sets in. Suicide is contemplated. Ending it all may be the only thing I have left.

But then, hope! A friend shows me Brago, King Eternal and immediately, i realize, this could work. A deck, built around ETB effects, triggered abilities, token generation! Elements of control, certainly, but not exclusively. HOW NOVEL!

Not playtested IRL, and it's not gonna win any tournaments, but hopefully a deck that will be fun to play and not frustrating to play against. Hope, like Brago, springs eternal.
