I was thinking ice cream, you were thinking Raisin Bran

I think I've lost perspective on this at this point in time.

How has your match ups been against caw blade or tempered steel or kuldotha red or any other really fast deck

No CawB match ups to date. But I have played many red deck quick decks, and done okay. The key to those type of match ups seems to hinge upon getting tempered steel out and creating some good defense and dropping emerge unscathed or armored ascension to swing.
Fast decks tend to burn themselves out quick too, so I can rely on oust and condemn to slow them down and play out their cards while I get board presence.
The one nice thing I could imagine against blades is that I run artifact creatures, so Pro whatever is not going to hurt.

I just get worried about fast decks. So far your 20 wins and 8 loss? I made a similar deck but with priests of norn. I like the vigilance and it's a good blocker

What works for me is cheap board wipe against fast decks. For this deck maybe Ratchet Bomb . That is especially effective against caw blade or any deck that relies on more than 12 creatures with cmc from 0 to 1.
I mean this could go on and on. the question is can this build be prepared for EVERY archetype? That is the million dollar question I suppose.

No. You just have to make it as adaptable as possible.
This deck certainly thrives on getting ramped up to be able to recur creatures that may end up in graveyard.
It becomes very hard to stop if that happens. The tempered steel is also beastly. Once I have tempered steel out and a few critters it becomes quite hard to lose as well.
The big deal for this deck has consistently been the armored ascension. That has been an instant win condition almost every time I play it.
But as was mentioned earlier. The board control with DoJ or All is Dust, along with Oust and Condemn can be too much for the fast decks because they do damage to you but burn themselves out. Plus every chump block I make leaves permanent marks on creatures that can be exploited later. So every a chump block feels like a small victory.

Nice. Yeah I am still learning how to be less linear and more adaptive I think.

Hey man, can you check out my infect deck? I'm still trying to work out the kinks, playtesting with it and I don't know how to improve it

card:Tezzeret's Gambit seems like it will go nicly in this deck

I like it,
it seems though like you would want to run the full number of Tempered Steel . while this deck doesn't need it out to win it does make things considerable smoother when it is.
also, maybe a one of Throne of Geth in the md to give a way to win outside of the red zone wouldn't hurt.
anyways my two cents, good luck.

I was inspired by the use on Spirit Mantle in another infect deck, and it seemed a good fit here as well.
This deck is still quite quick, and the mantle certainly provides some nice evasion.

Awesome idea, using Spirit Mantle in infect. I didn't even think of using it in my white infect deck. Thanks for the inspiration!
Definite +1!

Yeah. I saw someone else using it awhile ago, and I knew I needed a suitable replacement for Armored Ascension , which was a game winner itself. The mantle seems to hold its own with the evasion it provides.
Another note about recent changes is that I had to get rid of Emerge Unscathed which will be sad, but...Stave Off has such horrible art, I'm almost embarrassed to use it...I put it in the sideboard until either I get used to it, or a better card comes around.
I could just tape on different pictures I suppose. God. It is soo ugly.
Thanks for the shout out. Let me know how it works in your deck Welkin.

Good eye. Yeah. It slowly got phased out of this deck over the months of playing it.
If you look close enough, you can still see it.
It lingers.
It casts a ghostly shadow across the destroyed mirran landscapes.
Currently, I'm trying out Frantic Salvage for a bit, but I may take it out and put in 2 Mimic Vat s...which are waiting in the wings.
So far, I've been quite impressed with the salvage...I even used it successfully to recur 1 creature only in a game after considering all my options. It's nice because it lets me choose what I want...so if I just want to draw one card to draw that card back, I can do that. Or if I want to set myself up, I can do that to.
August 17, 2011 2:22 a.m.
That's hilarious. It depends on you but I'd rather have Mimic Vat over Frantic Salvage But it does have it's uses....

this is a great looking deck! i'm not sure if you've answered this question or not, as i'm too lazy and tired to go through all the comments but why no Ichorclaw Myr ?
theemptyquiver says... #1
Hahaaaaaaa. Actually I was hoping 2_scoops would elaborate on his comment, but instead he made it more mystifying.
Good to know I was on the right track with the 1 Titan. It is very hard for me to run only 1 card of something. it feels a little.....off.
But sometimes it seems to have a place in a deck.
This is the deck I play most at my casual group because it causes everyone to have fits. Which is enjoyable.
Still. Bone thrown. Bone thrown.
