Mutagenic Growth is a good idea...hmm.

my secret is that i actually play with Ichorclaw Myr s in this deck instead of the Core Prowler s.

But i left the core prowlers on T/O because I like to see how people react to other options.

;]

Yes!

Thanks. This is one of two of my oldest decks. It's great to see some fresh feedback.

how would you bounce back after an opponent plays something like Creeping Corrosion ?

August 22, 2011 2:17 a.m.

theemptyquiver says... #4

I probably wouldn't! haha. but hey. such is the life of a magic game.

Although I do have Mimic Vat to save some face. haha. Plus the Inkmoth Nexus and Tempered Steel stick around under that duress.

Not sure if you're trying to keep this post zendikar or what have you, but Hyena Umbra might work well here. A cheap +1 +1 that also gives first strike, which works awesomely with infect. Not to mention the totem armor. Unfortunately I haven't a clue what you would take out, as everything in your deck looks fabulous.

Very fun to play, +1

try Ichorclaw Myr a 2 drop that turns to a 3/3 (infect of course) so people tend not to block it.

Gideon Jura has a home here. He provides a nice plan B, he works like evasion by making your opponent tap everything, and he's removal. Maybe -1 Oblivion Ring, -1 dispatch, +2 Gideon Jura.

I am not going to read everything here lol, cus there is a wall of posts.

I like the idea though, I had thought of infect with inkmoth as an alternative win condition with tempered steel before, but never making the whole deck infect-based.

Because you're running 24 lands, I think a +2 gideon as landot suggests would help the curve make more sense, otherwise I'd subtract a land or two for something like a spirit mantle (would have to playtest for sure). Also, in my experience, ichorclaw myr has proven to be a powerful infect monster because of his effect, give him a try too.

A few Mox Opal might even have a place to ramp/even out the curve.

Leyline of Sanctity is M11, and wasn't reprinted in M12 (unless I'm wrong).

I love it! +1 And yes, Leyline of SanctityMTG Card: Leyline of Sanctity is no longer standard legal. I wonder if Priests of NornMTG Card: Priests of Norn might help against Creeping CorrosionMTG Card: Creeping Corrosion. Otherwise add Witchbane OrbMTG Card: Witchbane Orb.

Cheers to non-black and non-green infect! I love it. Someone suggested Angelic Destiny, I use it in my UW infect deck Poison Dancing... and it turns the tiniest threat into a two turn clock. AND it recurs ala Rancor. Very nice. +1.

@jminute14 thanks.

angelic destiny is quite good for the reasons you list, although for .25 cents and pump from all my plains it is hard to beat versus paying $7.

I will check out your deck. Thanks for the +

Infect is always nice (if you play it yourself). For opponent it offers lots of headache and this deck looks very very dangerous.

Gotta try something like this at FNM

+1 definetely

Nice man. If you do put this together, let me know how it runs for you and what tweaks you would make. @Yabomatic

+1 Definitely, have you ever considered adding in Contagion Engine ? Or would it be too slow for this deck?

May 24, 2013 10:15 a.m.

@Vahkii thanks!

I've playtested both the contagion engine and clasp. It is just a little too slow in most games, although it is a very viable sideboard option, but the decks that it works the best against it is too slow for, so really it would be a sideboard for control match-ups where I can't do direct damage regularly but if I can sneak a hit in I can proliferate it later with it.

@theemptyquiver I do like this and I'll definitely run this in about 2 weeks at a local modern tourney for fun. Last week I played an infect deck that beat me using a deck similar to this, but used half urza's for land and used Emrakul, the Aeons Torn as a backup win condition against counter and removal.

Would you recommend adding more Apostle's Blessing and taking out something else to maybe be a bit quicker?

May 24, 2013 3:58 p.m.

Yeah. That's a cool idea for the Urza land, but then i would risk not being able to use my white control/protection.

Yeah. I actually prefer Emerge Unscathed but I like apostle's blessing too.

As far as making it quicker? Well...what did you have in mind?
Let me know how you do, when you play it. I'm curious to see how it does in modern.
