I wanted to make a deck that felt at least mildly atypical for mill builds, and after a good long spell of evolution this is what I've arrived at.
Forcing everyone to cycle through their hands faster than they can really make use of them while simultaneously milling the ever loving crap out of them should warm the cockles of any mill player's heart.
To that end, combining Wheel of Fortune effects with
Sphinx's Tutelage
, and/or Jace's Erasure is pretty much the name of the game here. (Fun fact: Wheel of fortune + Sphinx = Target opponent is guaranteed to remove a minimum of 21 cards from their library. What's not to love?)
Library of Leng works a right treat here. Who says you should have to suffer too? Pick and choose which cards you want to keep or discard? Yes please!
Bottled Cloister
+
Ensnaring Bridge
: The pillow fort with bite! Keeps the doctor away, while giving you extra card draw on your upkeep.
Teferi's Puzzle Box Pure evil in this deck. Throw one of these into the combo mix, and you'll turn those frowns into... BIGGER FROWNS! :D
Jace's Archivist Windfall on legs. If you want to get the most out of this fellow, try the following:
Get a bottled cloister, and one of our mill enchantments onto the field. Then on your opponent's turn (when you have no hand, and they have a large one), activate his special ability. On your next turn, your original hand comes back to augment the new one, and then you can activate him again to nail your enemy with a disgustingly brutal mill chain they're certain to remember.
The artifact lands serve us two purposes here. One is to enable Mox Opal to help jump start what's otherwise a slower deck. The other is to use as fodder for us to Tinker into whatever the needed artifact is.
Geth's Grimoire I threw this one in here on a lark. Truth is I rarely wind up using it, but in the odd case where I get to play it, things get pretty damned gross awfully quick.
