A card that I think could possibly fit in here, though I am not sure, is AEther Vial . since almost every creature in your deck is a 2 CMC card this card could continuously cast an extra creature and free up mana for other things. it would initially slow down your deck if you played it turn 1, but would improve your game for turns 3-5 or so. it might be a nice card to help against mid-range decks to give a little boost to your deck if you don't have infinite mana yet. Also a card you could add to your budget list is Glacial Fortress as a replacement for Flooded Strand or Cavern of Souls . This reduces the decks versatility, but can bring the deck to a comfortable $100 or so.

How would Jeskai Ascendancy play in here? It requires a full colour splash, which is not ideal, but it seems right at home in this deck.

I do not want to be discarding a card KingSorin. And I already have a deck filter called Puresight Merrow .
November 1, 2014 5:23 p.m.
I was thinking more for the +1/+1 untap mode, but extra filtering is never a bad thing. It makes your army larger (serves as a win con), and gives you a lot mana (greaves-mantle). The filtering is never really a bad thing though, as in the worst-case scenario you can just discard what you drew off it. If you think it's too slow/restrictive then that's fair enough: I've never played with this deck, and from how many up votes it has, I'm sure you've played with it for a long time. I just think the synergy and flexibility is too good to just pass up without testing.

And here's my question for you: What would I take out for it. Then my number two question: How would I even make it work properly? The number two question is easy, I would need more artifacts, but then that destroys the resiliency of this deck. I will give it a test, but there is a reason why Jeskai Ascendancy is only two percent of the meta right now, very easy to prevent.

So how about them apples everyone? Jeskai Ascendancy hits the scene! The previous two "dramatic innovations" are now out, for better or for worse?
November 1, 2014 7:53 p.m.
I would consider leaving Retract in there along with Jeskai Ascendancy , maybe by removing Leonin Shikari ?
They share good synergy, re-playing all of your 0 cost equipment gives your creatures a massive power and toughness boost (for when you don't have Armament Master for a potential kill. Also the inclusion of Jeskai Ascendancy makes Retract useful even when you don't have Puresteel Paladin out.

I see your point on Retract , but what I'm going to do instead is stick Hurkyl's Recall in the side because I REALLY don't have any room for it in the mainboard anymore. That way I have hate on affinity as well.

Hurkyl's Recall is nice, keep some! so good for draw with your 4 Puresteel Paladin and 3 Jeskai Ascendancy +it can counter Shatterstorm. it is worth to draw into a Hurkyl's Recall or Retract most of the time like an artifact. You have 16 artifacts (and +3 Steelshaper's Gift make 19). Are 17 or 18 not enough? I think multiple Lightning Greaves for 2 mana each are slow.
wtf TDemers 17 creatures are so low there is no way to cut more, since they are the wincon.
also suggest +1 Armament Master for being Kor -1 Auriok Steelshaper for being Human

I tried out your deck and I wonder how you manage to win games when there's all those Lightning Bolts, Path to Exiles and other removal running around to remove your Puresteel Paladin and Armament Master.
Do you have any advice for which hands to keep and which to mulligan?

When Abrupt Decay and so many other spot artifact removal is a thing ZwiebelRoyal, definitely not. Also, I won't always have Leonin Shikari out so then multiple Lightning Greaves definitely helps. Finally, it improves consistency as I'm now using Steelshaper's Gift to grab a Paradise Mantle if I do not have one out already.
Well, damage removal like the bolts aren't much of an issue with this deck Brionac, because I have a lot of toughness boosting artifacts and can always fetch them with Steelshaper's Gift. Beyond that, if you are facing a very removal heavy meta, then I suggest you try and make sure to get Lightning Greaves, Leonin Shikari or Steelshaper's Gift in your opening hand. The greaves and gift are obvious anti removal and tutors for said anti removal, but Leonin Shikari helps make just one Accorder's Shield work for all your creatures. If you have Puresteel Paladin out that is. It is however a good enough defensive card that if I don't have anything else to work with it, I'll generally keep it because of its power with artifacts.

Just last week, this deck was at about how many +1s? I remember that it wasn't even close to where it is now, between 100-125 or so. But now, gosh, 223? This deck is crazy good.

Oops, sorry. Must've mixed this up with a different deck of yours, but it still is amazing!

I also just recently came back from a 1-2 month (not too sure how long it was) hiatus, so none of my decks actually got that many upvotes.

Consider replacing Path to Exile with Dispatch, depending on how often you can get the metalcraft. Dispatch is cheaper cost-wise and has no downside.
If you don't wind up with metalcraft often, Path is definitely better.

Another suggestion is Glint Hawk in place of Kitesail Apprentice because it gives you the added value of bouncing an artifact to keep the combo going. At the same time, you sacrifice the ability to get the tribal kor bonus, so that may not be what you are looking for. At the very least, another potential card to add to your "No" list.

There are four reasons why I don't use Glint Hawk, LocketRauncher. Reason one is because if I don't have any equipments on the field, it is a dead draw. And those do happen as they can destroy them, or for turn one plays. Reason 2 is if I only have Lightning Greaves on the field, that it is a loss of tempo. Reason 3 is because it isn't a kor so it doesn't get buffed by Armament Master. Finally, reason 4, it isn't a human or a soldier, so it messes up my Cavern of Souls plan.

I figured so. Glint Hawk is pretty all-in on the combo, and that's not quite what this deck intends.

I guess my only other suggestion is that if you are running Steelshaper's Gift it may be useful to add a singleton powerful equipment, like Batterskull or Sword of Fire and Ice. I know you have generally been avoiding them, but it seems like there are situations with this deck where having some raw power that you can tutor up would be nice. It might make the deck a little more aggressive in situations where you are beating face with the Apprentice/Steelshaper/Duelist group.

I like the idea of a one of. Definitely would have to be a sword. Sword of Fire and Ice would be my go to. The reason it would have to be a sword is because Conqueror's Pledge is 5 mana. I could however put another sword in the sideboard for when facing against other decks. Sword of Light and Shadow would be an easy fit.
