Or I could just remove the Bonesplitter s and keep the Auriok Steelshaper s. But with all the draw card I'm seriously suggesting removing one more Conqueror's Pledge .

Solid Deck. +1

Only 1x Flagstones of Trokair ? I think you'd get more value out of it with another copy or two for deck thinning / mana fixing (new legend rule works in its favor), although I suppose to get the most out of it you'd need a recursion engine to keep bringing it back (Sun Titan or something similar). Your mana base does seems a tad low though, even with cheap Creatures & Paradise Mantle (because having to tap the Creature it's attached to will keep it out of combat and this is an aggro deck), I'd be concerned about being mana screwed on your opening hand (Puresteel Paladin 's card draw will mitigate this later on). Maybe drop an artifact or two? Spidersilk Net sticks out the most to me (you can already gain flight from Kitesail Apprentice ). Just my initial thoughts, though the proof is in the playtesting.

This is a great Kor Soldier / Equipment deck, but a little tinkering is always fun. The new sideboard looks good and you have a clear idea of which match-ups you'd use the cards for. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on a Solder deck of my own that I'm currently revising: Soldiers of the Shattered Mirror [Modern].

@ MADDGOAT

I always only run 1 Flagstones of Trokair in any mono-white or W/X deck. Any more and I have the unlucky habit of getting 2 in my starting hand. ... wait, the new legend rule. I'll put in another one then. But only 2! I don't want to get too cocky with its new ability.

I've play tested this deck a lot, and 18 lands are enough. Because of Paradise Mantle and Steelshaper's Gift I frequently find myself thinking ... I've got too much mana.

My main issue so far is no creature protection besides Lightning Greaves for Puresteel Paladin as that really is my main card. I may put in Brave the Elements , but I need to do some testing. I think for the moment I'll swap my Path to Exile for them. I've have yet to have a need to the Paths so far.

If your primary concern is protecting Puresteel Paladin , have you considered Swiftfoot Boots in place of / in addition to Lightning Greaves ? With Puresteel Paladin 's Metalcraft ability the higher equip cost of Swiftfoot Boots is largely moot, and you'd have the advantage of "Hexproof" over "Shroud" ie. not leaving him unprotected when you want to equip additional artifacts, being able to use cards like Brave the Elements on him...

@ MADDGOAT

Swiftfoot Boots isn't worth it. My main problem is having a creature protection sooner than the greaves would allow. And I never put on more than one or two artifacts on Puresteel Paladin , the greaves and the mantle. Also, even with the greaves on my paladin, I can still cast Brave the Elements as it is all white creatures.

How about ... Leonin Shikari ?

MADDGOAT says... #8

If my understanding of this is correct (assuming they haven't changed how the stack works since the last time I looked it up), with Leonin Shikari , Puresteel Paladin Lightning Greaves and two other Artifacts on the Battlefield, you're basically immune to spells that target your Creatures... That's absolutely brutal... What are you thinking of dropping for it?

Femme_Fatale says... #9

@ MADDGOAT

I'll be removing 1 of each of these:

and then I'll be upping one of the Lightning Greaves while removing a Accorder's Shield .

Nice deck. +1 from me. I have a question though...what happens if you equip 4 Paradise Mantle s on one creature? If you tap the creature for mana, does it produce 4?

@ Cale1025

Thanks for the +1~

And no, it doesn't stack. Main reason is the card text "has" instead of "gets". For example Elvish Archdruid says "get" meaning they can get the same thing numerous time. But in the case of "has", your trying to apply something they already have. It'll be like making a creature indestructible from 5 different sources, it doesn't matter how many sources you have, the characteristic or trait "indestructible" doesn't change.

Cale1025 says... #12

Ahh....I see. It becomes redundant. Multiple instances of the same ability on a creature doesn't stack. Thank you. Really nice deck. Maybe I'll try to build this deck too and tweak it a bit. =) Ever thought of adding Sword of Fire and Ice , Sword of Light and Shadow , or Sword of Body and Mind ? Or maybe Kemba, Kha Regent and Swiftfoot Boots ?

@ Cale1025

All were possible choices, but I didn't use them for a reason. This is a tribal so having both cat and kor wouldn't work very well. I may have Leonin Shikari in here, but she is very useful when combo'd with Lightning Greaves . She's also a soldier, which doesn't hinder Cavern of Souls anyways because all of my kor creatures are soldiers as well. Plus cat tribal doesn't have very good token sorcery's as kor does. I mean look at my best conditions. If you want to go cat go full cat, if kor go full kor, never half and half.

Swiftfoot Boots Is useful because of hexproof, but really slows down my deck when I don't have Puresteel Paladin on the field. I only need one set of boots because I have Steelshaper's Gift on the field and the Greaves do me just fine.

Swords would destroy the ability for this deck to function. I would need more lands to compensate for the swords which means less of everything else that is important. You also have to remember the swords destroy the massive draw function I have with Puresteel Paladin , he's the sole reason why I use a lot of 0 mana cost equipments. Also, the equipments are mainly for the equip on Armament Master , so the stats the actually give are redundant, with the exception of the greaves and Paradise Mantle due to the mana combo it gives with one mana drop creatures.

Wow, I've been looking for a great Kor equipment deck. This seems to do really well.

I was wondering, have you thought about Auriok Edgewright or Fencing Ace in the deck?

Btw, is it possible to take advantage of Puresteel Paladin 's metalcraft ability with Paradise Mantle ? The situation would be that Puresteel Paladin's metalcraft ability is active, you have 3 untapped creatures on the field, and a Paradise Mantle. First you attach the mantle to a creature for free, tap it for mana, then equip the mantle onto another creature for free, tap it for mana, then equip the mantle onto the third creature for free, and tap it for mana? I'm thinking that this is possible because the Paladin has enabled 0 equip costs, providing for some small-scale mana ramp in white.

MADDGOAT says... #15

@cupofnoodles I don't think you can activate mana abilities on a tapped card... I think the "tapped" status takes priority.

September 14, 2013 2:10 a.m.

MADDGOAT says... #16

Wait, nevermind... It's the creature that taps, not a mana ability. Reading is fundamental, self...

September 14, 2013 6:31 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #17

@ cupofnoodles

Look at the description, I have the combo listed there. It is even more insane than you think it is, because with Lightning Greaves I can then play a creature and then tap it for mana to play another creature.

Very nice deck, I get the idea for mine!!

+1, I really like it!!

Have you considered to put some removal like Dispatch ?? It could be really useful against some annoying creature..

September 14, 2013 3:43 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #20

I used to have Path to Exile in my sideboard, but considering I came across more strategies that prevented me from attacking much more so than strategies that deemed a single creature as a threat, I choose Brave the Elements instead. I found that a card that could give me creature evasion, and protection from any designated colour was more useful. Meaning it works as anti-creature control (except world destruction cards), and allows me to block a massive trampled creature without any worries.

But nonetheless, I understand the suggestion Nemesis8.

Thanks for the +1 as well~

arid mesa?

September 15, 2013 12:54 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #24

@ xXTDUBZXx

I don't see the point of Arid Mesa . Why spend like $30 on a card, take one damage, be vulnerable to land control cards, when it's only purpose is to deck thin?

I would use it if I needed the shuffle mechanic like in my deck K'nex because of its use of Sylvan Library , but since I don't use anything like that in this deck and have a massive draw function, I won't bother with it.

+1 :)

I must say: Good God! 904 creatures!? that's an awesome play there. I honestly have no suggestions. I'm no Modern expert; heck, when I look at eternal formats, my first instinct is to dodge control by beating face. This deck does that nicely, while combo-ing into itself to guarantee a quick win and epic damage. Heck, even your sideboard pretty much covers the big-bad archetypes I've seen floating around.
