bewarekraken The price total is still under $80, which for Jeskai standards, is budget

Jeskai's always been pretty fun to try and make into a budget deck, haha. I feel like there's a more effective way to use a few of the slots in the deck, and possibly shave down the cost a bit. My experience is with Jeskai Tokens, but I started with Jeskai Tempo so I do have some knowledge of how this should work.
A good way to budget-ize the deck is by focusing more on the Prowess mechanic. Spells with Rebound are great in the budget build, such as Artful Maneuver and Center Soul, which both buff your creatures in some way. Thunderbreak Regent isn't great in Jeskai Tempo, where it's honestly just too slow to help the deck in any reasonable manner (at least in game 1, before sideboarding). Consider replacing it with a different beatstick such as Ojutai Exemplars, or Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest. The former is very versatile, and the lifelink helps a ton in the current format. Shu Yun has his own prowess to buff himself, but what sets him apart is his Double Strike ability. Cheap spells such as Wild Slash will synergize well with this option, allowing you to have extra mana left over to proc his ability. It works well with Seeker of the Way and Ojutai Exemplars, both of which will gain lifelink on a cast of a non-creature spell. Mindswipe isn't optimal in a fast deck, as your mana will most likely be better served casting more creatures or other spells. I recommend swapping it out for some of the aforementioned options, or Jeskai Ascendancy, which helps out Jeskai decks a lot, regardless of their type. The draw cycling is a welcome addition, and essentially giving your creatures vigilance or a surprise block is awesome. Speaking of draw, you should consider Anticipate, Treasure Cruise, and Dig Through Time as potential options to help out. Jeskai tends to run out of steam pretty fast, so those types of cards will help replenish your hand and still buff your prowess creatures. Disdainful Stroke is another good card to keep the control up, as most of the threats to your deck will come in at 4 mana or higher, Siege Rhino being one good example. In the sideboard, Deflecting Palm should be something you have here instead of the mainboard. End Hostilities is a great addition to switch to more of a control playstyle, as is Anger the gods. Consider Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker as a potential late-game win-con, as this deck does have the power to run him effectively. For a model, you should check out my Jeskai deck here:

SCORE: 1 | 0 COMMENTS | 2 VIEWSI go over many potential card choices there that are applicable to many Jeskai variants. While I do play the token variant, you should still be able to get a good idea of what a good Jeskai budget shell should look like. Hopefully you'll be able to make some changes with this that can make the deck more efficient, play-wise and cost-wise.

I think Valorous Stance is better than Reality Shift maybe turn the 4 of them into 3 stances, and shave a stubborn denial or 2 for some Wild Slash? Just an idea

This is my first standard deck (I've been playing modern and legacy for years) and I went 4-0. The deck plays nice and has pretty good consistancy. However with my version of the deck I put in 2 Monastery Mentor and 2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion but overall an amazing deck.

bunystomp If I had the budget, I'd buy Mentors in place of the Thunderbreaks, and Elspeth could replace 2 Swiftspears, as the T1 play isn't all that important. I'm glad the deck's working out for you! :D

HumpFree Thanks, man. I'm glad to see people like what I play :3. I did see Stasis Snare, but at this point, Banishing Light is still a better card, as it's one of my few ways to deal with a planeswalker besides combat.

What I enjoy about this deck and why I felt inclined to use it as a base was that it has the craziness of my Izzet decks with the potential of irritating people like my Azorius deck did.

IMO Roast should be in the sideboard, its too situational. Maybe Magma Spray?

Can you make a commander version of it using Shu Yun as the Commander. I would like such a deck for my FNM Commander Games

Like the balance of the deck. Way to show those people that obsess on needing to run 4 of each card that you can go with less copies for more flexibility.

I use 2 Anticipate on my Jeskai Dragons but my version is Dragon Focused. I love to win FNMs on my local Store
Every time you cast Anticipate, you have to take a look on how many cards you have on your hand and your graveyard. If you could cast a Treasure Cruise or Dig Through Time instead an Anticipate then change it, and you'll give some use to graveyard cards.
