Heyo! I've got lots of Pauper EDH decks!

No lies, a lot of them are stupid.

The well-optimized ones are:

• PDH(UB) - Marsh Croc, Mayor of Value-town
• PDH(UBR) - madness? THIS. IS. VALUETOWN!
• PDH(UW) - Olka's Shenanigans are pretty oppressive

All of them are blue, but none of them run Rhystic Study because of how deeply I loathe that card.

I've been browsing this list a bit more lately, and I really like it. It's a great resource. Also, I have a couple more suggestions that I think need some representation. :)

• PDH(URG) - BEAR CAVALRY is here <- a truly terrible attempt at Bear Tribal.
• PDH(BR) - Deepfire Elemental <- creature control with an elemental subtheme.
• PDH(WUBRG) - The Rebel Alliance <- The best I could do with allies.

• Just The Tip A new PDH deck using Poison-Tip Archer!!!!

Reassembling Skeleton PDH ... Mono-black combo? Worth a shot.

Soooo....I saw that draft of a ban list a while back and seeing these new Uncommon Lieutenant cards from Commander 2018 screams PDH ban list to me. Am I right?

I don't think any of those lieutenants are banworthy. The closest is Bastion Protector, and while she's very strong, I don't think she's going to irreparably damage the format. She can't get destroyed and that's big, but she can get exiled, sacrificed, bounced, countered, and blocked, all very easily.

In any case, it's just speculation, and pre-emptive bannings based on speculation are bad bannings. The only way to know for sure is to play a lot of matches with these cards in the format and see how it goes. If it turns out there's a demonstrable problem, then we consider a ban.

And even if she ends up being a deck that gives most decks a hard time it's still not banworthy. Normal edh doesnt ban commanders unless literally the very best of the best decks have trouble with it.

That's an old Lieutenant that wouldn't be legal anyways because she's rare. I'm talking about the following

True on the speculative ban parts but based on the typical Uncommon/Common cards that you regularly see in this meta, these 5 seem to give, IMO, Rare value at an Uncommon label.

1) Bastion Protector has been "printed" at uncommon on the onlines (it's uncommon out of a treasure box or something? idk). It's a legal Pauper Commander now.

2) I knew exactly which creatures you were talking about.

3) Like I said, they're all real good. None of them seem like they're too good. The threshold for banning can't be "these cards are really powerful" - that'd be a disaster. The threshold needs to be "These cards are so powerful that they're causing irreparable damage the format, and the only solution is making them illegal." I think these lieutenants are FAR from that power level - none of them seem better than Bastion Protector, Disciple of Deciet, Ascended Lawmage, or Slaughtermaster, and those are definitely top tier but not bannable...

... but again, I might be wrong. The only thing to do now is the play around with them and see! If you think they're going to be really powerful cards: build the deck and play with me! It'll be fun, I promise. :)

Out of the cycle of those commanders the green one is actually strongest, and even then its maybe a high tier 3. Check out my list for it. Sure their ability goes off for free but that doesn't mean anything really unless it's actually busted.

your list looks great Podkomorka very similar list to what i had originally set up. i personally think that the green one and the white one are broken more so the green one, but i am interested to hear how they go in your play groups. i think i might have been overly excited for Loyal Guardian because my play group decided to ban all the loyals after i ranted about how excited i was for them.

also when was Bastion Protector printed uncommon? i can only find it uncommon on mtg online...
