My apologies for double posting, but no Seeker of the Way for Mono-White?

@jace365: Thanks, I'll playtest against it soon

@MrXilas: Seeker of the Way could be a neat voltron commander but with no built in evasion and limited card draw you will be hard pressed taking full advantage of Prowess.

jace365: I checked your list, and it seemed just a bit too creature heavy in my opinion. In my experience playing Lorescale as my general, I've had more success going with the voltron/control route by running as few creatures as possible. Not trying to shill, but you can check my list to get some ideas:

Gentlemen. Something just came to my attention. There's a website just recently launched, dedicated to Pauper EDH. They're interested in bringing people on board to further build the community, so check out the link below.

I think the first step in helping define a meta for PDH is breaking in (or just breaking) some commanders and seeing how fast and how consistent a win can be in this format. Also, whether the format should focus on free-for-all or 1-vs-1, as the facilitate different building styles.

Salty_River & Ruffigan: I found a small pdh database on salvation the other day. It's a bit outdated but it can still provide general tips and maybe even a decklist for someone just starting out. Here's the link: Salvation

Ruffigan could you imagine how crazy it would get if it broke off into Dual Pauper EDH, French Pauper EDH, and then regular Pauper EDH?

@Ruffigan got the coatl list out this last weekend against regular edh decks and got the win in a 4 person pod where one player had blind obedience and another had meekstone so only my creatures untapped and the coatl one shot was beautiful.

Does anyone have experience with building a PDH cube?

What size, creature ratio, exclude tricolor cards etc? The above is a great resource for finding the commander's, but what about the common stables? Does such a database exist?

Im sry if this is derailing ..

bjarneudenarme: There's a section at the bottom of the primer that says 'Resources'. I'd say go there.

Hey, I heard the format can be pretty fast. I know it's not an advertise thread, but I was just wondering if this deck would be considered "fast enough."

Ruffigan says... #19

@MrXilas: The speed is going to depend on your playgroup and how much removal people are running but in general I think drain decks are the fastest outside of a few voltron commanders. You will need to watch out for being focused, so your control Auras will be invaluable. I would add Heliod's Pilgrim and/or Totem-Guide Hartebeest to get them out more often. Maybe Shred Memory as well since it can also remove annoying cards like Ghostly Flicker. Another thing to consider are suicide black cards like Crypt Rats, Pestilence, and Evincar's Justice. The deck looks good in general though, will just be harder to deal damage if your commander is taken out.

Wait, does this mean that there is not a single four coloured uncommon creature

October 13, 2017 9:34 p.m.

Ruffigan says... #21

You are correct, there is unfortunately no 4 colored commander. There are multiple 5 colored commanders that are good, though.

I have made a list of all mana rocks and mana dorks at common. I am not trying to advertise it, but here it is for people that want a comprehensive list: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/pauper-commander-mana-rocks-and-dorks/?cat=cost&sort=

Would Fortress Cyclops be a potential candidate for the Boros list? What about Belligerent Hatchling ?

October 16, 2017 2:29 a.m.

Ruffigan says... #24

Fortress Cyclops could potentially do well. White has access to multiple cards that grant protection, allowing it to swing unblocked and protect it from removal. It will be coming down a bit later in the game but you can prepare with rocks, equips, blockers, and red boardwipes to eliminate weenies that dropped on the first few turns. You will need to hit an opponent a minimum of three times to kill them (assuming you don't have any buffs) which means you are dangerous but not a pressing issue. I think the main issue with this commander is how you will deal with the entire table. This can be shored up with some mutual damage cards like Hissing Iguanar and battle tricks but overall I think it will lack the legs to pull out a win a majority of the time.

Belligerent Hatchling comes out as a 2/2, making it vulnerable to half of the board wipes in the format. Removing the counters will require at least 4 mana and 4 cards, which means you will need a hand with at least 4 cards to be able to use it effectively. Not only this, but if your commander is removed you will need 4 more cards to get it back to fighting shape. I think this commander has too many stipulations to be able to be used effectively every game but a 6/6 for 4 mana is definitely nothing to sneeze it.

Pygmyrhino990 says... #25

I assume any jank with Belligerent Hatchling will come from effects that prevent counters such as Vizier of Remedies or the such, but would be limited to their lack of being commons

Also, is there any rule regarding partner commanders (a custom rule or our own fan made Oracle text for certain cards)
