Deck overview
This deck is my take on a pauper turbo infect deck. I had piloted a deck similar to this in modern to some success but not to the amount that this deck gives me. What makes it particularly strong is that a lot of the good sideboard tech against this deck is only available at above common level. However, most of the downfalls to this deck are addressed in the sideboard.
For those of you unfamiliar with this deck, I'll explain how it works. The main center of this deck revolves around infect. Infect is a keyword that makes it so that your creatures with infect deal damage in the form of -1/-1 counters to creatures and poison counters to players. Whenever a player gets to 10 poison counters, they lose the game. Mostly what you want to do is attack with a creature so they don't block it, buff it up with every buff spell you can get off and prevent it from getting removed. If piloted properly, it can consistently win on turn 3.
Sideboard Explanation (OUTDATED)
Nature's Claim is an extremely useful card for this deck. You shouldn't care much about how much life that your opponent has, so this makes it the best artifact and enchantment removal that you can have. In addition, you can slow down your opponent if they use the artifact lands that tend to be somewhat prevalent in pauper.
Spider Umbra
is good against decks that have heavy removal in order to keep your creatures alive or if they have a lot of fliers it works well.
Reverent Silence is for decks that prioritize enchantments like Bogle. This is really the only board clear for enchantments in pauper. I originally had
Tranquility
in this spot, but Reverent Silence is much better because I can cast it for free. My opponent's life also means nothing to me so I don't worry about it, similarly to Nature's Claim. (Thank you to hbomb33 for the suggestion)
Ranger's Guile is also good when your opponents have a lot of targeted removal. Being able to keep your creatures on the board unharmed is absolutely critical.
Vitality Charm
is an all around useful card. It helps you get around sacrifice effects and also gives you another avenue to put evasion on your creatures as well as buffing them. (Thanks to CaptainCookieCrisp on reddit for the suggestion)
Overall, this deck can be extremely enjoyable, so build it and give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Suggestions are always welcome as well. If you liked the deck feel free to +1 and comment on this deck to help get the word out there. Thanks for looking!
