It seems weird right? I like goldfishing on paper, but testing other people's deck online is quite interesting although a bit strange.

Some thoughts, I really like Plaxcaster Frogling a lot haha always have that protection up and can protect Atraxa. And out of the 15 games I played, Sylvan Library is just amazing, the life gain from Atraxa is enough to offset the damage taken from the extra draw. Early game Everflowing Chalice is super strong, and Leyline of Anticipation + Defense of the Heart is a good way to sneak in the Praetors. The only weakness I see so far is the early game, where you don't have much effects, but that's okay because your mid game is definitely strong. Your most important colors is Green/Blue so most of the time I fetch for Breeding Pool as it's essential to play for about 40% of your spells. I mostly tutor for card draw whenever I get a tutor, so top options for me is Sylvan Library, Rhystic Study, and Jin-Gitaxias. If card draw is already established I go for protection for Atraxa.

Mana base wise, I never really had a problem, my only issue was with the Hideaway lands, I'm not too fond of them mid or late game. It's alright early game but I would replace it for better mana fixing lands. Even pain lands are a good alternative like Yavimaya Coast, Adarkar Wastes, Brushland, Caves of Koilos, Llanowar Wastes, and Underground River.

Thanks 4 feedback! It's great that you like this build. My main goal with hideaway lands (dat Emrakul out of nowhere ffs..) was to sneak Praetors or Avacyn for free. This is their only purpose since I won't be casting those critters from my hand very often. Everything else is fine?

Naw what matters the most is that if you like the build for where it's at! So I'm just happy to help ya refine it the way you like it!

But yes, everything else seems fine, it's a fun deck that can get out of hand if people don't stop it or run answers for everything. The most important part is getting your card draw than protection for your creatures, the proliferation, than the fun stuff. It's a fun deck all around to play!

Lol, kinda funny since I'm also helping my best friend refine his Atraxa deck as well haha

Haha nice - maybe someday if WotC will make edh in MTG:A I will clash with your friend :D Ok then - unfortunately I won't buy everything right away (I have like 600$ for now) and I'm tweaking my mono black and zombies as well.

Thanks for help! You've done a good job sir :)

No worries, if ya need help with tweaking any decks I'm always down to help!

Most of the time I'm modifying my decks whether it is swapping out foils or researching cards to refine it better, I'm always thinking there is something faster or making it more consistent :P

It's my first "real" attempt of deck description at tappedout. I hope it looks ok-ish :)

I love it so far!!!

I do however strongly recommend adding in JTMS he is way too good to not include. I understand why you are running Ainok Bond Kin however that is your weakest card in the list so far and I would definitely run JTMS over it.

Hiya, well hkhssweiss put me on to this. It's a very interesting build with a good midgame. How do you feel about using more lifegain synergies? Sage of Hours / Archangel of Thune / Soul Warden or her various sisters, Sunbond works just as well with Sage of Hours especially with your commander going on the offense 4 life gained --> 4 +1/+1 counters on Sage of Hours --> Activate the Sage for an extra turn. Archangel of Thune Provides a mass buff to your board with each lifegain trigger. Cradle of Vitality is slightly more mana intensive but allows more flexibility and potentially doubles your commander's P/T with each passing turn.

I do agree with cHaXEnd with Sage of Hours, you can either swap that with JTMS but Ainok Bond Kin do need to go lol

Just need to find a way to add 1 more +1/+1 counter on the sage and u get continuous extra turns, multiple creatures with lifelink maybe? Or Whip of Erebos

Sage of Hours with Ezuri, Claw of Progress is infinite combo, when u ramp yourself to 5 experience counters. I'm aware of this guy, but I don't like infinite combos. There's a lot of such things in my meta and it's driving me crazy.

I was thinking about lifegain, but I would have to take out like 3-4 cards to do it efficiently.

Hmm, I totally forgot about Archangel of Thune, she would fit actually quite perfectly for the counter synergy and lifegain in conjunction with Atraxa plus proliferating your whole board. Oh my that's actually quite devilish, my only worry is that it's a 5 cmc card, but it is definitely a bomb if she gets on board along with Atraxa...oh my LOL!

Upon further pondering if you do keep Archangel, if you somehow give double strike that's two times the counter's...like Duelist's Heritage or True Conviction (I don't like True Conviction though because of dat cmc and color requirement)

Some thoughts haha!

Maybe, I still hold that Archangel of Thune works in this deck without much groundwork due to your commander choice, if we're avoiding infinite combos then stopping infinite combos may be in order, how do you feel about Glen Elendra Archmage?

November 22, 2018 9:03 a.m.

ErebosMortuus says... #15

I was thinking about both archangel and conviction but the only life gain stuff (I got rid of Abzan Battle Priest as you've suggested) is Atraxa herself. Conviction is nice, but triple white is just bad.

cHaXEnd says... #16

If Archangel is still iffy, what about Sunbond? Potentially doubles Atraxa's Power and Toughness with each swing.

November 22, 2018 9:08 a.m.

ErebosMortuus says... #17

Glen Elendra Archmage is like a Siren Stormtamer with persist - it doesn't do anything particular in this build except being a counterspell on a body (fragile target anyway). Combos that I've mentioned are focused on permanents.

For example: Nevinyrral's Disk, Platinum Emperion, Darksteel Forge, Mindslaver (with Daretti), Platinum Angel, Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood.

I know what you mean, I wouldn't add in True Conviction. The main reason I actually would consider Archangel is due to the fact that she does produce counters on all your creatures, plus Atraxa herself does do lifelink damage and can proc in conjunction with Archangel. The synergy is unreal because Archangel pairs with anything.

Here are some off the bat.

Plaxcaster Frogling, shroud for creatures Fathom Mage, card draw Fertilid, super ramp Gyre Sage, dat mana doe Rishkar, Peema Renegade, every creature taps for mana

What do you think buddy?

Here's the deal bois:

Ainok Bond-Kin -> Archangel of Thune

Athreos, God of Passage bumped in my head now and still - I can't find a spot for JTMS.

November 22, 2018 9:18 a.m.

cHaXEnd says... #20

I don't care much for Athreos, opponents will always pay the life and if they don't then you know they can deal with you, meanwhile if that's what you're dealing with, have you considered Rest in Peace or Stony Silence? Pithing Needle / Phyrexian Revoker are also relevant when dealing with Daretti, Scrap Savant. Avoiding artifacts means you could run Energy Flux as a piece to slow him down.

I love it buddy, play with it and let me know how it goes!

I think the synergy would really work imo :P

Lemme take a look to see what can possibly come out for JTMS

ErebosMortuus says... #22

cHaXEnd great ideas - I was considering the majority of cards that you've listed, but as I said to hkhssweiss before - I won't be making the same mistake as before - creating a "duel" deck focused on one particular friend. I think that Aura Shards will solve a lot of problems as well as Retribution of the Ancients (since it put -1/-1 counters instead of destroy).

TheErebos

Well it's a hard decision, but as much as I don't like to suggest it. It's between Rashmi or Corrupted Conscience, for the flavor of the deck I love Corrupted Conscience and it goes well. At the same time, yes Rashmi is good but JTMS does everything Rashmi wants to do and more, plus the slow tick from the proliferation of Atraxa is pure EVIL.

Those are my suggestions but remember this is your deck, test the deck out and see what makes you happy cuz that's what matter the most. All of them are cool cards :P

November 22, 2018 9:37 a.m.

hkhssweiss says... #24

Wait Retribution of the Ancients doesn't put -1/-1 counters on creatures? It's pure -x/-x?
