Perfection of Milling

Modern Mill UB (Dimir)

Anfalas

Sideboard

Maybeboard

Instant (3)

This is my own adaptation of ducttapedeckbox's Perfection of Milling.

I'm still in need of a few cards, but it's basically finished and works wonders so far.

I run two Illness in the Ranks in the mainboard here as I usually play against creature token decks, but once I've collected the remaining cards they'll be switched to the sideboard.

Other changes I'll be making include:

I think Keening Stone will be a vicious addition to keep in the sideboard, for use as a sort of nuke card. By mid-game, its tap ability should be powerful enough to empty most of your opponents' deck.

As for Grisly Spectacle, well, I'm not sure. It's a nifty card for creature removal, and it has its own milling component. I'm really not sure about using it though, as I'm running Fog Bank to deal with attackers. Not to mention Grisly Spectacle has a much higher CMC than Fog Bank, which is happy to sit there and soak up all the damage. Also, by the time your opponents get heavy hitters out, you should - in theory - be able to get Consuming Aberration onto the field.

Thoughts, critiques? I'm all ears! :)

Suggestions

Updates Add

Just a little deck tuning.

Removed:

With Keening Stone, I figure I draw them often enough, but I rarely get the opportunity to use them, so they're really just wasting card slots that are probably better used by a couple more land.

Added:

Updated the sideboard, too. Not going to list the changes there though.

Results:

I played three games with the edited deck last night to get a feel for the changes.

The difference is phenomenal. The deck itself plays a hell of a lot faster now, thanks to the two additional land cards. Also, now that it's back down to the 60 card count, play feels a little more consistent. I was able to mill my opponent out in six and seven turns for the first two games, and came within one turn of victory again on the third thanks to playing Jace, Memory Adept for the first time. All three games I managed to have landfall each turn, leading up to a final play of either a Consuming Aberration or Mind Grind. So I'm pretty pleased at the moment.
