@ ygamretuta -- I am not aware of any alternatives to Witchbane Orb in standard. Well, Slaughter Games and Nevermore can help prevent them from hitting the board.

@ Bauhom -- Very true. Currently, the mainboard's way of getting around Witchbane Orb is cards that don't target: Consuming Aberration and Mind Grind . My kill spells and counterspells also do not target the player.

I like this deck a lot. I was skeptical when I read the name, but am most definitely impressed with what I see. I've been tooling around with a deck along the similar lines as this, but this answers all the questions I had about it. I have almost the exact same cards for it as you do.
The only changes I see myself making are -1 Consuming Aberration -1 Cyclonic Rift for +2 Jace, Memory Adept and -2 Grisly Spectacle for +2 Soul Ransom , and maybe throw my 2 Shimian Specter in the sideboard.
Overall, easy +1 from me

@ MistaMint -- Thank you! May I ask your reasoning behind adding Soul Ransom ? I've never really liked the card much, maybe there's a way to use it that I'm not thinking about?
April 23, 2013 7:49 p.m.
It's just kind of a prick shot. I enjoy the looks on people's faces as I take control of their creature and beat them with it. And even if they do choose to make you sacrifice, that gains your card advantage. And for taking permanent control of a creature, 4 is cheap

@ducttapedeckbox Can you check out my version of this deck. Keep in mind it was built with cards I already owned. Did You Forget Your Deck

Have you checked out any of the Dragon's Maze cards yet? Looks like there might be a couple that make it into my Redneck Mill deck :)

@ MistaMint -- The way I've been seeing Soul Ransom is that it serves as a disadvantage. You tap for four playing it and gain a creature. But if you try to do anything with that creature, your opponent can use the second ability at instant speed, from which you lose the creature and most likely leaves you with an unusable card advantage (assuming you have already played something and don't have the mana to cast another card). Ultimately you get a card advantage, and four for two cards isn't bad. But the disruption it causes in your game may cause more harm than good. I think I'd prefer straight up card-draw (i.e. Think Twice ).
@ DirtyItai46 -- Will later if I remember
@ bcoots -- I try my best to avoid the new sets until they've actually been released, because my friends and I always get a box or two and I enjoy pulling cards I've never seen before. However, I do have to admit that I have seen a few of them, but I'd prefer to be surprised once the set comes out.

@ Vos_Is_Boss -- I could easily delete your comment or just not read the cards... I do notice that one is red though, so it doesn't even fit :P

Bwahahah
Well... you could at that. However... I know for a fact that you read each card. The one that has red in it is a Split Card... you only have to use one side of it :D
The other is just a bonus.

Well I won't spoil anything for you, however, there are some nice cards that make milling even better in standard imo.

@ Vos_Is_Boss -- I just looked at the mana costs, nothing else. I'll look at them after I open some packs.
@ bcoots -- Maybe I'll pull a couple of them when I get some packs!
April 24, 2013 7:41 p.m.
I can see your point about Soul Ransom but like I said, it's more just for my amusement then anything else. Only reason I would put them in is because I already have two. And I don't think I'd attack with that creature or anything, hopefully just take one of theirs that they need on the board for something, but milling is all about demoralizing your opponent for me. And look on the bright side, should Lazav, Dimir Mastermind hit the table, let them make you sac it. Then you have it permanently and with hex proof

When Dragon's maze comes out, you better put Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker in there. +1

Please leave all Dragons Maze discussions on this deck until after the set is actually released :) When i have opened some packs and reviewed all of the cards, I will write a lengthy post that considers all dgm cards and my thoughts on them.

I don't mean to be annoying or anything, but I've noticed that a lot of people look at this deck, and I'd like some people to check out my G/W tokens deck, Prototype Tokens/Angels (Suggestions Welcome). It goes for a more flying-token-oriented approach. I'm fairly new to Magic , and it would really help me out if anybody gave me some suggestions.

I knew someone would say that... It's just very hard for people new to this wonderful site to get the help that they need for their decks :(
