It's a good 2 of instead of Fog Bank . Besides Boros Reckoner , what will it help with? Maybe aggro but the majority of the decks out there play midrange, which usually has green for thragtusk and as a result, rancor. Then the bank becomes pretty much useless. Sideboard the fog bank? Along with the Grafdigger's cage

I've made a few changes, and removed the Undead Alchemist /Undercity Informer combo. I never got both of them out at the same time.
I'd love to hear some opinions

It's really hard to keep a good mana base with only basic lands. Shimmering Grotto ?

I own a few dual lands that I can add in, but I can't remember what I actually have..

I don't know if you can afford these but Mindshrieker and Lazav, Dimir Mastermind can be win cons.

Actually I'm not sure about card:Illusionist's Bracers.... I'll let you know. Right now I can get the remaining cards for the deck for $20.

Love this deck! I'm gonna steal this idea, and go buy it adding a few Typhoid Rats s and Sideboarding those Fog Bank s for some added defense, but killer deck for the price. +1

you can probably take out the 3 Cyclonic Rift and add 2 more Artful Dodge and 1 more Duskmantle Guildmage so you can start letting your opponent take damage while your milling him for God knows how much.

+1! Love the deck, going to take some of the ideas and put them into my own milling deck.
I ended up splashing white for artifact removal (i.e. Detention Sphere ) due to issues with Elixir of Immortality in my own milling deck. I assume you would just bounce and then counter these sort of cards?
Do you find the Nephalia Drownyard helpful? I see it come up a lot and I can't really see the cost of the ability and the effect really being worth it, especially as it doesn't trigger a mill with Consuming Aberration .

Have you thought about Curiosity and Invisible Stalker ? Paranoid Delusions is awesome with Invisible Stalker much better than Mind Sculpt . Of course Jace, Memory Adept is pretty much required for mill. I'm still trying to decide if I can afford him or not.
Shimian Specter isn't bad to help the mill/cipher aspect. Probably not ideal though.

Didn't see the guildmage in your sb. Take out those guild mages and put the Cyclonic Rift as a sb

@tristenbruce
In my own milling deck relying on cards like card:Jace's Phantasm and Wight of Precinct Six the once off 7 card mill from Mind Sculpt can be game changing!

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone! Don't forget to +1 if you haven't already!
@ GTKA666 -- How about a compromise? I'll mainboard one more Guildmage and sideboard one Rift?
@ Mediat0r -- Exactly. Without white, I bounce or counter cards like the Elixer. I also find Nephalia Drownyard helpful. Of course, having three of them and little colored mana is a pain, but when you can drop one as your third or fourth land, it is extremely helpful, especially when you leave mana open for a counterspell and don't need to use it.
@ tristenbruce -- I had Invisible Stalker in here initially, and it was useful with cipher. However, it was extremely useless when I needed chump blockers against aggro decks. I found that the deck performed better overall without them. Jace would also be a nice addition, but I am trying to keep this a budget deck, and he is well.. not budget :P And I don't really like the Specter because it has to get through. If I was running more artful dodges and the like, I might consider him.
And, Mind Sculpt is much better than Paranoid Delusions . The latter requires a creature, and more importantly, a sustainable creature. With a mill deck, you could be up against decks that require you to block with your "cipher-ee?" Just made that up... You'd have to have 2 successful attacks with a ciphered Paranoid Delusions for it to be as effective as Mind Sculpt .

lol idk why we are trucing :P. Just trying to suggest a bigger chance to mill kill the opponent rather than just relying on mil alone XD. IMO Mind Sculpt >>>>>>>Paranoid Delusions because you can end a game with that card when you have Duskmantle out.

+1 - This deck has me intrigued into getting into the Mil game :)
I've only recently gotten back into MTGO, so I am new to the Cipher stuff. Anyone care to give me the rundown on how that works?
February 18, 2013 10:49 p.m.
when you cast the card it has to attach to a creature then and there. You can't cipher it when it is in the graveyard after the turn.
February 18, 2013 10:55 p.m.
did you find those dual lands?
i dont know. Shimian Specter seems really good. it allows you to look at your entire opponent's deck so you can make smarter decisions. although you do have to get through and its double black. then again, it has flying so that makes it easier to get through...
February 18, 2013 11:56 p.m.
I would be shocked if you didn't have the 2 blacks by turn 4.

Oh! another thing I wanted to bring up was.... Artful Dodge ?
