Evershrike is a really cool and stylish design. An ominous, mystical dragon-like spirit that can revive itself with the power of enchantment... very inspiring! Of course, we can't wait until turn five for such a beauty - you can flout that mana cost by reanimating him out of your graveyard so long as you have a cheap and decent aura to spare. The best enabler for Evershrike, then, is the classic Rancor - for a paltry , you can pull Evershrike out of your graveyard as a 6/4 with Flying and Trample. Does he get killed off? No problem: Rancor goes right back to your hand, ready to reanimate the Shrike once more. You just can't keep a good elemental down.

Okay, so we're at least in black and green. Commune with the Gods lets you dig for a Rancor while conveniently dumping a Shrike in the bin. Any that you draw can be fed to a Lotleth Troll. Aspect of Mongoose serves as a backup Rancor, not being as cheap or pumping power but giving you a still-impressive 4/4 with flying and shroud for four mana, recurrable as needed. The more recent Giant Inheritance is a fun one-of.

Of course, your elemental spirit can't be expected to do all of the work by itself. He also has an understudy in the form of Kami of Transience. If it dies while enchanted, it will recur itself at the end of the turn. And since you'll probably slap a Rancor or the like on it as soon as you've played it, it should often swell to an impressive 4 or 5 power pretty easily.
