Simic Block Constructed. Gain life, draw cards, mess with opponent's game plan.
Not as straightforward to run as my Standard Constructed Crypt of the Deathless.
In the first few turns I aim to play Sylvan Caryatid and Courser of Kruphix to stall any aggro ground assault and ramp. Incremental life-gain from the Courser of Kruphix will help to keep me alive in the mid stages of the game, where I expect to take a bit of a pounding.
Next, I aim to play Perplexing Chimera as quickly as possible, disrupting my opponent's plans by ensuring I can steal their biggest threat. Once my opponent has control of my Chimera, I can steal it back again using
Voyage's End
.
Horizon Chimera and Bident of Thassa come in next, and work extremely well together. The life gain from drawing cards helps to keep me alive and the evasive damage means I can start hurting my opponent. Also, card draw.
Boon Satyr
can either be used as emergency defense in the early game, or as a big damage boost once I start my attack.
Finally, I'll use
Sea God's Revenge
to clear away opposing blockers and attack in for some hefty damage.
It's not in any way explosive, but the combination of plenty of incidental life-gain and card-draw will give me time and tactical options while Perplexing Chimera disrupts my opponent's plans.
