For the glory: WAAAAAR!!!!
Hello my friend, welcome to Akros!! This deck is built just for fun, based on hoplites and heroes, and devoted to Iroas, whom we pray to win our next battle.
THE COMBO:
We play a RUW deck based on
Jeskai Ascendancy
, so the key is to play this card and then pump up our soldiers. Where's the fun? Where's the combo?? Here it is:

Icy Blast

Glimpse the Sun God
and Launch the Fleet cost only 1 miserable mana to target ALL our creatures, and also trigger
Jeskai Ascendancy
that instantly UNTAP our tapped target creatures. And this is not all: this deck is full of brave HEROES, and their HEROIC abilities are triggered too with only few mana in pool! We play also a
Descent of the Dragons
just in case we're tired of Ancient Greece and we want to fly to a fantasy medieval world!
HOW EVERY CARD SHOULD WORK:
Akroan Crusader
: Little drop 1, with a very interesting HEROIC ability. We can generate lot of little tokens with haste in one turn with our key combo, which will be pumped up in few seconds with other heroic triggers and Jeskai ascendancy.
Anax and Cymede: heavy heroic trigger that makes our creatures bigger.... and gives them TRAMPLE. In the combo our creatures get +2/+2 for every spell that target Anax: now the phalanx is unstoppable.
Anticipate: Yeah this deck is just for fun, but we want to close our terrific combo, and the combo is made of many pieces. With this card we can search what we need and add to our hand. Also trigger

Battlefield Thaumaturge: Key card of the Combo. Every X cost of our spell become ZERO and with only one mana we can target HOW MANY CREATURES WE WANT. Not enough?
Descent of the Dragons
could cost only RR if we have 4 creatures in play, and we can tap also opponent's creatures free with
Glimpse the Sun God
and
Icy Blast
.
Battlewise Hoplite
: an hoplite (and it should be enough) with a simple heroic ability. Not a bomb, but let you scry.
Boros Charm: Very versatile spell. Could save our army from destruction, and it's always good. Heroic and Ascendancy trigger.
Daxos of Meletis: Why this card? Because I love it! When pumped up is potentially indestructilble in combat. He also let us play our opponent cards, and I like it too much. He's not an akroan, however he can join the battle :)
Descent of the Dragons
: a phalanx of flying 4/4 dragons is good, but if we can have it only for 2 red mana thanks to Battlefield Thaumaturge is better. If you want a 60 cards deck, THIS IS THE CARD TO SIDE.
Favored Hoplite
: drop 1 hoplite. Must have :)
Glimpse the Sun God
: another keycard of our combo. Target all our creatures when
Jeskai Ascendancy
is in play, triggering all their heroic abilities and also the ascendancy, which untap immediatly our phalanx. If Battlefield Thaumaturge is in play it costs only 1 MANA. WE CAN TARGET ALSO ALL OPPONENT'S CREATURES and let him without defence. In the end we can Scry, always good.
Icy Blast
: same thing of
Glimpse the Sun God
, but more powerful in defence if we have a creature with power 4 or more. Why only 2? Because I have only 2 copies :|
Iroas, God of Victory: Our worshipped god, who let us attack and stay alive in combat. Guide our swords and lead us to triumph!
Jeskai Ascendancy
: at this point I think it's clear how it should work ;) Play it, tap everyone, trigger it, untap everyone and win the game.
Launch the Fleet: My favourite JOU card, trigger all Heroic abilities once again, trigger the ascendancy, let a second horde of hoplites attack while the first enter the battle!!!!! Where's the business? Obviously it costs only ONE MANA to cast when Battlefield Thaumaturge is in play. THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAA
Phalanx Leader
: Blessed by Iroas, this brave warlord will pump our army with his ecouraging words and with his HEROIC ability. Counters on everyone!!!
Spear of Heliod: this is the help that the Father of gods can give us: +1/+1 to everyone. Good card. If we have mana we could kill a creature that has dealt damage to us.
Temple of Enlightment
, Temple of Triumph, Temple of Epiphany: we have hoplites, we have heroes, we have gods so we MUST have temple too!! Scry is always good when we're looking for the card that we need in order to complete the combo. ALSO AMAZING ARTWORKS :)
