Yeah, I was reading up on Tome Scour and I definitely see its ineffectiveness. I'm still of the opinion that Quicken for the super-situational sorcery response is just too janky, but it is great for a card draw or an end-step + Pilfered Plans . You are absolutely right about Desecration Demon synergy with Penax and he fits perfectly into my lacking 4-drop curve. Thanks for the feedback!

I honestly think you should play 4x Desecration Demon
.
Even without Phenax he is a bomb and you want him on turn 4.

I'd trade in the Black Oak of Odunos for Hover Barrier because you'll have to tap another creature to activate its ability preventing it from tapping for Phenax and you don't have much flying in the deck which could be a problem.

You really need Triton Tactics in here, self explanatory. A secondary win con is also advisable ie Consuming Aberration .

All really good suggestions, I have never really done anything but toyed around with mill and after really looking at some of those cards like Consuming Aberration , I really see their potential. Thanks!

They have it listed as Siren of Silent Song . But a 2/1 for 3cmc? I know it lets you make the discard 1 and mill one every time, but why not add another wall for consistency? Murmuring Phantasm comes to mind.
If you want, you can take a look at my deck Your Library.. annnnnnnd it's Gone!! HELP!!!. Maybe it might give you some ideas.. also, I'm looking for help as well.
We need to make mill a viable option for standard!!!

logan700, I understand where you are coming from but it is not JUST a 1 mill per turn, it is 2 damage in the air EVERY turn they have to deal with AND it is discarding 1 card every turn. If it eats up a removal spell or a counter then my planeswalkers and other REAL win cards are more likely to resolve/stay.

blinded2, well.. I can't argue with the logic behind damage. I just don't see it much since the theme is defender/mill. I feel removal and counters are in great supply in current standard and is needed in a defender deck if their board state gets out of control. Vortex Elemental is a 1 drop that can pretty a pretty decent late game removal for you.

-4 Tome Scour . This card is absolutely terrible. While it may seem like you might as well do it on turn one, imagine how non-intimidating this would be on turn... 5? This isn't what you want to be drawing late game.-2 Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker . This is the slowest and most ineffective card in your deck. It isn't going to be often that you get this small 5-drop creature to actually hit your opponent.-3 Nightveil Specter . You'd rather hold up the three mana for Hero's Downfall , Psychic Strike , or Dissolve .
+3 Pilfered Plans - Lots of strong decks right now are combining the power of Quicken with Divination . This is the same as Divination except it also mills, so obviously it's a good choice.+3 Quicken - maintaining card advantage is important. Using Mind Grind at instant speed in response to a huge Sphinx's Revelation could be GG.+3 Desecration Demon - 4 mana for a 6/6 threat that also synergizes with Phenax.
Also, I don't see Phenax in your list... which doesn't make a lot of sense. :o
Perhaps you meant that Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker was a placeholder for Phenax. If so, my bad on that.
