Cool deck. Re: Sentinel , it can only be activated when it is blocking or being blocked, so they would have to attack you. I do agree it's bad, mostly because if you can't activate its ability it's a 1/1 for 4. However, since you're playing in a casual group you might use it because casual players often appreciate these old, kind of silly, thematically relevant cards. And it could be hilarious when the Omnath player forgets you played that and swings at you for what they thought was a lethal 50 trampling commander damage. Also, I might cut Perplex because if it's a game-changing spell you want to counter, your opponent can always counter your counter for 'free'-ish. And if you like it for transmute, why not just run a tutor?

Perplex is there for early game pressure, and a late game tutor for one of my many 3-drops. Sure it's not a great tutor, but it's not just a tutor, which makes it attractive.
Also just because my meta is more casual, doesn't make them bad players. Sentinel would be really awful in this deck as it would eat a removal spell right away (there is a tonne of removal in my playgroup).

Is there a reason Bonehoard is not here? You already have Consuming Aberration , Sewer Nemesis , and Nighthowler , may as well grab another, right?

Nope, it was taking up too many slots so I cut it early.

I was curious about Chromatic Lantern ? It seems that your mana would be fine without it and you could put a more ramp type card in the slot like Sol Ring . I understand the versatility that the lantern can bring, but it was just something that stood out is all. I like the deck, I did a similar thing with Damia at one point mainly so I could ramp, draw, and try to abuse Seedborn Muse and Prophet of Kruphix . +1

I run the lantern just because I have a few. I'll probably replace it with Sol Ring when I get one, or Coalition Relic sooner.

I thought about that, but all it does is untap itself, and that requires mana. I think there are better options for me.

I like big butts and I cannot lie (that's my idea for a title). +1 :)

Anyway, how about Djinn of Infinite Deceits ? It's pretty good for milling and devotion, but not to mention getting rid of your defender creatures for Hellkite Overlord 's and stuff.

if a tome scour on legs isn't appealing, mayhaps a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx

I love Murder , but Hero's Downfall is definitely better

Sorry about this, I'm a beginner, but wouldn't Triton Tactics be quite good in this deck? It would be able to untap two creatures, and when you re-tap them to mill, they will tap for an extra three each.

What about Sands of Delirium ? That will be an alternate way to mill consistently, and help with all your graveyard-dependent creatures. Another card you might think of, if you can afford it, is Glimpse the Unthinkable . It is a great card, and fits the mill style of this deck well.

Wic_Uber, Triton Tactics would not be good because it is a one-shot spell that has a lot of chances to be a totally dead draw, and isn't removal or card advantage.
DrLitebur, X isn't all that good. I would rather be casting spells every turn and there are far better artifacts to run than that. Glimpse the Unthinkable is too small time to even consider running. That's the mistake most people make when they try to mill in Commander.

I see you have Spell Crumple .... Might I recommend Tunnel Vision ?

Really clunky and slow, no real reason to add it at all, it's kinda bad in fact.
