Already have pod in there actually. I really have found it less useful then I expected. But it stays because it is pod.
The more I look at it, the better Surrak is. Thanks for that suggestion.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found pod to be meh in Yisan

It goes against everything I thought going into making the deck, but it is true. Yisan is just far better then I thought he would be. I already cut Hibernation's End was totally useless for me.

I guess it's better in a Golgari or Jund deck with cards that do better with death triggers.

So long as you can protect Yisan the deck really doesn't need more tutoring. Idk about you Didgeridooda but I get at least 3 tutors per turn

I think it is more that Yisan gives you instant speed reaction, and pod is sorcery. At least for me, that is the biggest. Also, some of the creatures are very important for their board presence. So black would really come into play with reanimation there.

2-4 sometimes more if I get going for sure. Getting tough though, starting to draw a good amount of hate.

The companion is a recent add, it is a really good enabler to gyre sage. He also feed the devotion very well. I have not tested him well enough. I can not take him out yet.
The diamond is a no go for me, but I love medallions. Not a diamond fan in a greed deck. I don't own a green one, but they are very cheap now. I should be able to get one easy enough.

Well what do we have here? Oh, a budget EDH deck! Amazing! Now lets take a look at the mana base...1 nonbasic 35 forests. Now for the suggestions (Note: I am in no way certified to make proper suggestions) Jungle Basin instead of a Forest, Myriad Landscape instead of a Forest and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood instead of a forest a Forest. Now that the mana base is good, you have 18 mana acceleration effects so if you want, i think you could get away with less than 36 lands. Also Omnath, Locus of Mana is expensive money wise but is extremely powerful. Liege of the Tangle is very good too but a wrath would kill all of your lands.

Thanks. The Oran-rief is a great suggestion thanks. Also Myriad is something I forgot. I have none of them, but that reminds me that I need to get a bunch of em.
I would not add omnath, since I have another mono green deck, and he is the commander. Love him, just don't want too much of him.
Liege is something I have thought of, but board wipes are crazy in my group. So he won't work.

your welcome. I have an omnath EDH deck, i love him too.

Hello, nice to see you not on Untap. I actually just found this in the recently deck-cycled section or whatever its called, so fun coincidence. (I'm the guy who makes a horde game every so often, along with saturtos)
Anyway, on to your deck!
While the first of these two options could be more budget, I think with the way the deck is planned out (with the high mana-curve) they would work relatively well: Lurking Predators and Call of the Wild.
Now, I have a soft spot for Vorapede, and while he's expensive... well... I have a soft spot for him :P
Nissa, Worldwaker Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury are both good and (relatively) inexpensive for what they do.
Also, a few randoms that might be good (I probably could have put vorapede here :P) Power Conduit, Beastmaster Ascension uhhh. Hm. If your playgroup plays lots and lots of removal you could add Penumbra/Symbiotic creatures (I think these are fun. It's not as much they are good as they are rattlesnakes. Nobody wants to boardwipe all creatures if they know they won't have any creatures, and you'll have a 6/6 trampling wurm at the end of it), Strangleroot Geist (Good early devotion, and a sweeper rattlesnake. Haste it better than you think).
Well, I had a few other cards in mind when I started typing this, but I can no longer remember them :P
cheers

Edit: Did not realise how expensive Nissa had gotten. My bad.

Thank you for that. Power conduit seems to really help manipulate what I need in this deck. Lurking pred is another that seems like it would be really good. I will have to add those to the trade list.
My numbers that I was shooting for were 36 lands, 42 creatures, 22 other. With the commander, I am there right now, and I have some playtesting to do after my last update to see what just does not fit. I got a few though.

You can have more fun with your lands. You are mono-colored and have plenty of colorless mana costs, meaning you can comfortably run 5-10 fun utility lands.
Mosswort Bridge is cheap and cool, though it comes in tapped. Personally, I think the effect is absolutely worth it. None are too expensive either. On the hideously expensive end are Gaea's Cradle and Wasteland.
Quicksand, Mystifying Maze, Yavimaya Hollow, Haunted Fengraf, Strip Mine, Tectonic Edge, and many other lands come in untapped, tap for colorless, and have cool utility effects.
Cycling lands are also not half bad.
July 5, 2015 11:13 p.m.
I agree with Wise that you need some Land Destruction, Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge are good because there are so many groody lands in EDH, and these are still decently priced for what they do Looking at you Wasteland. Genesis is a great way to gain extra value from Birthing Pod, and is pretty good in general. Tempt with Discovery is a cheeky way to find Nykthos, and sometimes it also finds you a bunch of other lands too. Lotus Cobra is a nice way to generate a free mana every turn, but I'm not sure you deck really needs it. Hua Tuo, Honored Physician is another way to exploit Birthing Pod, and can make for some interesting plays.

Thank you, I will look to trade for some of those, and Hua Tuo is great. I did not have any more tech edge, but do run a few creature land kill. Super important. I do need some more ghost quarters.

I don't know what that is.
edit - I do know what that is. Just looked it up, knew the picture, and what it did, forgot the name. Good card, just don't have one. Will try to trade for one though.

The Exarch is good because you have a choice of effects depending on your situation. As for the others, I can understand.
If you happen to get a Birthing Pod, it would be pretty useful in here. That way you could have 2 effects the same turn!
