Plague Spitter Lifegain

Casual

CinemaDrAJ

Thanks for taking a look--My friends and I play casual together, and I've been tweaking this deck for ages trying to get it to perform better. Also thanks to the guys over at /r/MagicTCG for the help!

The idea here is Lifegain and Sanguine Bond, working around Plague Spitter . The deck moves out of the gate, with a low end mana curve dropping Wall of Hope and Ajani's Pridemate to benefit from Plague Spitter when it hits the field. Adding Spirit Link to Plague Spitter helps accelerate your Lifegain, for when Sanguine Bond makes it to the table. Lashknife Barrier saves your creatures from the various Plagues being spat.

Fatal Blow serves as pocket control post-upkeep combo-ing with Plague Spitter's ability. If all goes well, either Chalice or Sanguine Bond will make short work of an opponent, so long as Plague Spitter is going to work or a beefy Ascendant is swinging around--or both.

Also--I've never really taken the time to put a sideboard together, suggestions there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

[Can't have a deck without a snazzy name.]

I've been testing this revamped Plague Spitter / Lifegain mechanic out on my super burly Mono Green Treefolk--and it's been performing much, much better. Hasn't been beaten yet actually, and once it picks up near turn three or four, the lifegain is more efficient than ever. Thanks to /r/MagicTCG for the helpful comments, always looking for more constructive criticism.

Decks can always be improved, what's next? Probably nailing down a sideboard. That, or figuring out where another 6 cards can be trimmed as the deck currently sits at 66. For casual, this doesn't cause me immense grief. Still 60 is the target, always.

Thanks again!
