I think that Jace architect of thought would be really good in this deck, as if u have doubling season out you can play it ult it the get instantly get any other plans walker and ult it aswell

I just took The Chain Veil out in favor of Oath of Teferi because 9 times out of 10 The Chain Veil is a bad card.

Since you're running Rings of Brighthearth, why not add Basalt Monolith for the infinite mana combo?

April 27, 2018 7:13 p.m.

heinrichgraum says... #6

I like the idea, but without Rings, Basalt Monolith doesn't do much. Also infinite mana, esp colorless, isn't as impactful for this deck as the reasonable amount i can create with the artifacts i have.

That's a fair point, but you could adjust slightly to add Tezzeret the Seeker and Trophy Mage which would allow you to tutor for your needed artifacts.

I've never heard of Honor-Worn Shaku but it looks good in this deck, as it can add an amount of mana equal to the planeswalkers you control + 1

I also play an Atraxa superfriends deck, silly combo you may not know of that i found while playing.

Omniscience/tamiyo field researcher emblem tamyio moon sage emblem doubling season ob nixilis reignited sorin grim nemesis

with the emblems and doubling season in play, you give an opponent the obnixilis emblem, then kill ob nixilis with sorin and return both hand, cast and repeat and give all opponents infinite ob nixilis emblems, then draw a card.

only worked a couple of times, the first by accident but super funny when it does.

Any reason for not running the OG dual lands? Was it just cost?

May 17, 2019 5:04 p.m.

heinrichgraum says... #12

Yeah, they're just too much and the only folks I know who have any wont trade them

Ah, understood. I'm really interested in testing this build on a simulator - is there any other cards you would sub out if cost weren't a factor? Thanks!

heinrichgraum says... #14

If cost weren't a factor the #1 card I want to get for this deck is The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale , which if you do also swap out bitterblossom for Pendrell Mists for a second copy of the ability.

Thanks a lot, that's awesome, going to try to do both. What's the purpose of Master of the Bridge when the deck only runs 7 Artifacts? To combo with Karn and the other Tez?

May 20, 2019 7:36 p.m.

Have you considered Ignite the Beacon ? Seems pretty good to nab 2 planeswalkers at instant speed.

May 20, 2019 9:44 p.m.

heinrichgraum says... #17

I like Ignite the Beacon in decks that run fewer planeswalkers actually, in a deck like this the five drop slots are already too crowded for a tutor. I cut Call the Gatewatch for a similar reason and its stronger.

Is there any reason why you're not running Deepglow Skate? Also, are there particular artifacts you like to retrieve with Karn?

June 4, 2019 10:41 p.m.

heinrichgraum says... #19

Deepglow Skate is an absolute powerhouse, its just a matter of space. I cut it a while back when i decided to push heavier into the legendary subtheme mostly because its non-legendary and i don't run the tools that allow you to abuse that etb

Thanks for all your help man! I'm trying to incorporate the Alpha dual lands - should I remove basics of each, or should I remove the other Dual Lands so that I can still use Thaumatic Compass to pull Basic Lands? Maybe a combo of both?

June 9, 2019 7:45 p.m.

heinrichgraum says... #21

Adding alpha duals, take out the checks and battlebond duals. Having basics in your deck is important in edh for a lot of reasons.

You're a saint man, this is fantastic. Appreciate your patience answering my questions, this is my first time running Superfriends so it's been really educational. I think the last one that I have for a bit is why the lack of Cyclonic Rift? I feel like an Overload can really cement a win especially with 3 other opponents.

June 11, 2019 11 a.m.

heinrichgraum says... #23

The lack of Cyclonic Rift is because I hate the card. Its the card I personally think should be banned in commander so I don't include it in any of my decks. I felt the same way about Craterhoof Behemoth and Deadeye Navigator at the height of their prevalence.

June 11, 2019 12:22 p.m.

Wicker says... #24

Completely fair point. Does Sword of Truth and Justice or Yawgmoth, Thran Physician have any room in this deck with their proliferation abilities? I'm definitely buying a Sword for my other Atraxa (+1/+1) Deck but just seeing if it has any value here with the low creature count.

June 13, 2019 10:25 p.m.

heinrichgraum says... #25

It feels like there are enough tokens to make a sword always useful, although I don't feel near as positive about Yawgmoth.
