Chandra Ablaze fits the theme, but not sure there's the room for it. Nice looking deck though :)

MohenjoDaro Thank you! The highest mana cost in this deck is 3, and for those cards, I only play them for their suspend cost. With that being said, my highest mana cost that I actually cast is 2, making 6 mana out of reach with my current mana base. I appreciate your input, Thank you!

Like burn decks but unfortunately according to my playtest it struggles of mana leak hence I'd suggest to put 1-2 more lands

Have you checked out Shock, Incinerate or Incendiary Flow for this deck?

Ghosty, I've tried all three, and will certainly find some room for a land or two. I found that Skullcrack was better while shutting down life gain, and Shock is simply inferior to Lightning Bolt.

What's up with that sideboard?

Cloudchaser.Kestrel good question! Burn is such a direct format, and with this deck, it doesn't really matter what the opponent plays if I kill them on turn 4. All of my spells are directly targeting the player, and so there does come a time where I'm playing another extreme aggro deck and may need some effective blockers (Steel Wall), cheaper Skullcracks for anti lifegain (Cloud Key), or Elixir of Immortality against mill. I'm also looking for suggestions as what else I should include.

Snapdisastermage holy shit I hadn't thought of that!! What do you suggest I do to take care of that?

Anarchy can work to get rid of it pretty well.

True but thats not modern legal. Maybe splash white for Demystify or Disenchant?

Whats cloud key for?

koshtip Cloud Key was kind of an afterthought, if I need to shut down life gain with a one mana Skullcrack or get Chandra out sooner, or maybe make my Rift Bolts so I can basically turn them into Searing Spears

How does the deck deal with an opponent's Dragon's Claw? Do you still win or run out of gas?

Snap157 says... #15

cmsrDPM The deck works pretty well against it, and 100% of the time, I am dealing 3+ damage, so the one life gets lost or canceled out. It takes maybe a turn of two longer but it's not too bad.

Guttersnipe? Its a free 2dmg to the player after every spell.

Let's get down to business indeed! I use to run a burn deck before I took a pause and there were a couple of cards in it that might help you here. With Searing Blaze, it's very easy to end up with a total of six damage for a two cost card which is insane value. And, if you are going to have one shot creatures, while not get the most bang for your buck with Assault Strobe.

One card I've never gotten (and to be fair I might be missing something) is Monastery Swiftspear. She isn't much use to you until you get to turn 2 and even then I'd rather use Satyr Firedancer that gives me more bang for the buck with my instant spells. I know the card is pretty popular so I'm sure I'm wrong but I just never liked it that much.

Aeradom thank you for the feedback! I used to run Searing Blaze for the longest time, however I found it cumbersome to time the mana correctly, and the thought of wasting two mana on something that is not guarunteed to deal 3+ damage to the player was bad compared with possibly playing two bolts instead and dealing 6+ damage.

For creatures, I tend to shy away from them because there are usually more ways to kill them or respond to them than with a spell, so I found that Assault Strobe may give me more damage, but spells that target a player directly are more reliable. The goal of this deck is to kill the opponent and not their creatures because very few (if any) creatures can kill me faster than this deck kills their owner on turn 4. With opposing creatures of no worry, I did not include Satyr Firedancer in the buid, even though its still a dope card. Monastary Swiftspear is basically another (possibly better?) version of Goblin Guide. I know that I will be casting multiple spells per turn, making this a 3/4+ haste one-drop that is simply too good to pass up. Thanks anyways, sorry about the wall of text lol

Snap157 I see what you are doing with the deck now! This actually looks like a deck that I'd like to give a try with now I can see what you are doing with Monastery Swiftspear. I'm curious though, is there any alternatives you could offer for Vexing Devil and Simian Spirit Guide for the budget conscious people out there?

Aeradom Unfortunatly you'd be sacking preformance for price, but as for the mana boost provided by Spirit Guide, Desperate Ritual or Pyretic Ritual would maybe work in the meantime. As for the devils, I would just take them out and put in 1 more Spark Elemental, and then 2 Shard Volley and 1 Thunderous Wrath. Hope this helps!

Braid of Fire seems really cool to drop your beginning hand, but it seems like a pretty awful topdeck once (if) you get to that part of the game. I personally feel like Assault Strobe or Temur Battle Rage would go great with your Swiftspear/Kiln Fiend plan as giving them double strike is great. Granted, those both suffer from the same problem as Braid with being bad top decks if your board is clear, so it's your call.

Other than that, I think it may be worth putting at least the Arid Mesa mainboard and maybe putting 3x Eidolon of the Great Revel or 3 Harsh Mentor into the sideboard so that way you have less cards dedicated to your transformative sideboard and more cards for other matchups.

Dig the interesting take on burn, and thanks for the upvote!

To free up sideboard space, maybe run stomping grounds in the mainboard.
