Hi guys, this a brew I came up with. I made this deck because I really like
Plunge into Darkness
, I love the suicide aspect of it and the artwork's great too.
The deck has 3 ways of winning:
As the card says, when you have no cards in your library anymore, you win. This can be achieved by casting
Spoils of the Vault
at the end of your opponents turn, together with Angel's Grace, or when you have Phyrexian Unlife in play.
Costing 5 mana, this is a slower route to victory. The deck has many ways for paying life, so getting exactly 1 life, should be no problem. Especially not when casting
Plunge into Darkness
.
This wincon should be obvious, pure beatdown. Pay lots of life, play this card and your opponent won't live for much longer.
MAINBOARD:
Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek
The standard discard package, to disrupt what your opponent's doing. These are strong against combo and stripping counter spells from your opponents hand.
Apostle's Blessing
This card will both protect your creatures Laboratory Maniac and Death's Shadow, as well as giving them a clear path to your opponent's life total.
Noxious Revival
A great utility card for when you need to get back cards that were stripped from your hand, or you simply want to recast again.
Shadowfeed
Playing with such a low life total is always dangerous, you don't want to get burned out. You can expect Lightning Bolt in some matchups, but you never know if your opponent has a super-secret tech card.
Gitaxian Probe
This card can be easily replaced with another. I just like to know what my opponent's up to, and know whether or not I need to hurry the f*ck up with my gameplan or not.
SIDEBOARD:
Ethereal Haze
In modern you need to be prepared against fast creature based decks, such as Infect, Zoo and Affinity. Alpha strike for game? Well, I don't think so.
Leyline of Sanctity
Autowin against Burn and Ad Nauseam, and good against discard heavy decks (8rack) and decks with Lightning Bolts.
Slaughter Pact
Great against Twin, if you suspect they have the combo, and good against other creature heavy decks.
Postmortem Lunge
Is in the sideboard, when you rather want to be attacking lots of times with Death's Shadow.
Silence
To get your plays through.
Lingering Souls
Might be good?
