From the scattered, sweeping plains upon the archipelago arises Fabled Hero, of whom all beware when double strike shall steal their life, dashing apart Plainswalkers' foes upon prismatic wings.

The object of this Plains/Island aggressive deck is to bring forth heroic creatures and allow their counters to multiply. Fabled Hero , for example, may acquire an Ethereal Armor, giving him a +1/+1 counter for the target spell and the same from the armor itself. Targeting him with 2x Ordeal of Thassa will boost him twice more, and with one swing twice more again, along with the immediate fruition of the Ordeals. Supposing one or two Detention Spheres are in play, the Ethereal Armor will accumulate strength for each enchantment. Protecting this powerful warrior with Gods Willing and Triton Tactics will also strengthen him by spell targets, as will Phalanx Leader when he is likewise targeted. With the Gift of Orzhova , our flying Fabled Hero will be nigh onto unstoppable. On top of all this, if Archangel of Thune is summoned then each lifelink attack, along with extort from Blind Obedience, will also provide him counters, and Ajani, Caller of the Pride is the icing on the counter cake. Remember, in the midst of this momentum, that the madness of multiplicity lies within the fabled double strike.

There is a control element within this deck to assure that your creatures are not overcome whilst gaining strength. Detention Sphere is the most important of these, and Lyev Skyknight will detain opponents as the heroic ones acquire counters; Skyknight could also be bounced back and detain again with Deputy of Acquittals. Blind Obedience will set the tempo of the battle in your favour.

The sideboard shores up weaknesses against spell casters with Negate and Mizzium Skin , and against extremely frightening creatures with Essence Scatter and Celestial Flare . If more speed is needed, Aqueous Form can take the place of two 3-drops such as a Lyev Skyknight and a Gift of Orzhova . Fiendslayer Paladin could be rotated in for one of the heroic creatures (except Phalanx Leader ) if more protection and lifelink are needed. Pithing Needle is reserved for the dreaded AEtherling.
