Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief is here, and ready to steal all of the magic in the land!!

This is not your average Simic landfall deck, it is a very quick paced voltron deck that aims to get a bunch of copies of your commander down, to then buff them for very cheap and beating down your opponents.

The gameplan is simple:

  1. Drop Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief
  2. Either drop a second creature (even better if it's got a heroic ability) or make a NON LEGENDARY copy of Ivy
  3. Cast a TON of single target spells and copy them on each Ivy you control
  4. Attack to win or use Giggling Skitterspike, Venerated Rotpriest, Corrupted Conscience, or Aspirant's Ascent to poison your opponents to death

Every aura you cast on a single creature is good to copy on Ivy, and some (like Strong Back, Auramancer's Guise, and Ancestral Mask) benefit the deck even more with multiple copies. Many of the auras also help protect Ivy, either with the Totem armor mechanic, or with Hexproof.

Whenever you mutate a creature different than Ivy, you can cast a copy of the mutating creature on Ivy too. every creature that has the mutate ability in this deck is NON LEGENDARY, which means that if you put it on top of Ivy, she will not be legendary anymore, and you won't have to worry about her copies dying for the legend rule. In addition to that, mutating most of the creatures in this deck is also a flat stat buff, and triggering those mutate triggered abilities twice can be very strong.

This deck sports a LOT of cards that can make a copy of a single creature or token creature (see Cackling Counterpart and Croaking Counterpart), but these cards are seldom useful when the best card to copy is legendary and you run no cards that say "the legend rule doesn't apply to permanents you control". These cards do work surprisingly well with the mutate mechanic, and the few cards that make NON LEGENDARY copies of legendary creatures (see Double Major and Vesuvan Duplimancy). The NON LEGENDARY copy can be copied as well, and those new copies WILL NOT BE LEGENDARY EITHER.

While playtesting this deck, I found that there are a couple ways to get you to victory, depending on the boardstate of you, and your opponents. The obvious first way is to win with Commander Damage (Voltron for friends)/attack damage: you make very big creatures with your auras, get them through the defence of your opponents, and hit them to death. The second way is through everyone's favourite mechanic since the new Phyrexia sets came out: poison counters. You can use Corrupted Conscience and Aspirant's Ascent to attack and poison your opponents this way, or use Venerated Rotpriest to poison your opponents out of the blue. My third and final way to win is to use Giggling Skitterspike and buff it to gigantism while it deals massive damage to your opponents.

This is the list of cards that make the deck go wild once they are in play: Season of Growth is a spectacular draw engine that can make you go through your deck in just a few turns; Vesuvan Duplimancy is the best way to make TONS of copies of whatevere creature you want (as long as you already control it); Twinning Staff makes it so almost every spell you play is played in triple copy; and heroic creatures (even Venerated Rotpriest, Stormchaser Drake, and Giggling Skitterspike) are great alongside Ivy
