Just looked at your Maybeboard. If you're thinking about Blightsteel Colossus then I'd go more of a Mono-Blue Tron build rather than Affinity. You'll have more room for defense to get your infect dudes through.

my Grixis Tron deck is here complete with a set of Expedition Map and big creatures..the Blightsteel Colossus was something someone suggested and i just moved it over to the tron deck
Galvanic Blast is definitely something i'll consider while saving for the high dollar affinity staples..it would greatly help with board control for sure :) right now, i'm relying on Ornithopter and Memnite with Cranial Plating equipped in order to clear the board for the myrs..it's just too inconsistant..even with Fabricate , it still doesn't go how it's planned every time..
thank for the feedback buddy

Well Inkmoth Nexus is about 10 bucks i guess? so its not tooooo expensive... and when you are going the infect strat, i think its a musthave. also i would get some cheap evasion like Aqueous Form .

You can use Grafted Exoskeleton as a cheap (about 30 cents) equipment that can give the champion or Ornithopter infect and just win that way.

nice suggestion!! idk why i didn't think of sb'ing that..thanks buttergolem!

I'd go with the standard affinity land-base :
4x Glimmervoid (for generating black to equip Plating at instant speed)4x Blinkmoth Nexus (can fly for 1 or can bump inknoth up) <== expensive :/an extra Inkmoth Nexus
If you can afford it, Arcbound Ravager's a staple also. You can bump him up and then dump the +1/+1s on one of your infect guy for a quick win
April 8, 2015 10:58 p.m.
woops, didn'T see the ravagers already there. please disregard
April 8, 2015 10:59 p.m.
yeah Glimmervoid and Blinkmoth Nexus are definitely on my wish list..right now I'm just drooling over trying to get a set of Mox Opal before my hair starts falling out haha
April 9, 2015 11:59 p.m.
By running so many infect creatures, you are splitting your wincon. Focus on infect or normal damage. Affinity only runs Inkmoths to up artifact count and because it lets them do all in risky plays versus tron etc
4x Radiant Fountain1x Urza's Mine1x Urza's Power Plant1x Urza's Tower
all bad. You don't need 7 mana from lands you cannot tutor up.
Should be Glimmervoid, Blinkmoth Nexus, etc.
May 21, 2015 3:37 a.m.
yeah i know..i just have them in there as filler till i can buy the proper mana-base
this setup is for game 1; then game 2 sub out 3x Etched Champion and 2x Arcbound Ravager and sideboard in 2x Blighted Agent 2xGalvanic Blast 1xGut Shot (unless i'm playing a mirror match, then i'd leave etched champion in and take out all the ravagers and sideboard in Ancient Grudge, Naturalize, and a single Thoughtcast..)

Hey so I like your deck i have something that is like this except i run blue white with more obnoxious creatures that piss the opponent off lol. But I think you should replace your basic lands for the artifact lands since they can produce the colored mana but also add to your artifact count. Hope it helps.

Darksteel Citadel is the only artifact-land that is modern legal, and I'm running a full set. Artifact-lands Seat of the Synod, Ancient Den, Great Furnace, Tree of Tales, and Vault of Whispers are all banned in Modern. I'm working on getting Glimmervoids to replace the basic lands, but i'm on a budget, so it's slow-going aquiring those; so I'm running a pair of City of Brass in the mean-time.

Biggy599, Unfortunately artifact lands like Seat of the Synod aren't legal in modern.
M1kee, I had an infect deck and took my Inkmoth Nexus and Spellskite in my new affinity deck. But I haven't thought that I could also use my Ichorclaw Myr I could try it eventually. Thanks !
August 22, 2015 6:45 p.m.
yeah man, Ichorclaw Myr is great cause it adds to the combat math and keeps opponents regretting who the assigned blocker is. Blocking with an early Tarmogoyf or flash-blocking with Deceiver Exarch? no problem; I'll just sac these Springleaf Drums to my ravager & then sac my ravager to pump ichorclaw myr with the +2/+2 bonus for 6/6 infect damage.

I don't know what you are usually playing against, but as an affinity player my worst fear is that my opponent sideboards multiple Hurkyl's Recall or Smash to Smithereens. I just ordered some Dispel and Spell Pierce just for that. I used to play Negate because I'm trying to avoid removals and usually don't care too much about creatures. I'm not sure about Stoic Rebuttal and Override. Choose your favorite counterspell with your needs.
Also I think Mirran Mettle is great here. It's almost like Groundswell wich is played in many modern infect decks, but the mettle fit the artifact theme. Just remember you can lose your metalcraft sometimes. It's like a Giant Growth or Simic Charm. Don't underestimate that type of cards, they win games quickly on infect, even if it's nothing compared to Cranial Plating...
Finally, I think Necropede should replace Blighted Agent for a full artifact creature base, or Plague Myr if you don't really need the mana. If you really need unblockable, I think Distortion Strike is more useful.
August 25, 2015 3:14 a.m.
Good thoughts! I completely agree that a Mirran Mettle would be quite useful, especially on Blighted Agent. I would play Distortion Strike if it were an instant instead of a sorcery. I play against alot of merfolk, burn, tron, & typically affinity set-up with signal pests, ravagers, overseers, etc. So, it's always pretty much a race to turn 4 or 5 for board-control & subsequently, the win.
I've been looking for a replacement for Mutagenic Growth and I'm thinking Mirran Mettle would be a great choice. I really need to get ahold of a set of Glimmervoids or complete my set of Mox Opals (or both) so I don't have to worry about colored mana. Springleaf Drum is helpful, but I need to have no concern whatsoever about drawing the correct card in order to play a colored spell.
Thanks for all the ideas man

Nice build, but is it just me or is Wear Away a strictly WORSE Naturalize in your deck?
January 3, 2016 5:19 p.m.
i suppose it could be, but with glimmervoid, mox opal, and springleaf drum, I really don't see needing GG over (1)G as an issue. the again, I won't ever use the splice effect, so maybe it would be better to have naturalize over wear away.

If you're running the Tron lands you might want to look into using Expedition Map to put them together faster, especially if you're only running 2 of each.
I would run more infect creatures, if you're looking to have that as the main win con, as well as ways to clear the path for the Myrs. Dispatch and Galvanic Blast (even though it's red) would be perfect to make sure the Myrs get through. Maybe utilize some blue cards to bounce the opponent's creatures.
You're already looking to remove the Solemn Simulacrums, replacing them with more Master of Etherium would be good for keeping the pressure on.
