A deck I made for my dearest friend who happens to play MTG. He is a huge fan of control, but he also loves the playstyle of aggro. So I thought "Why not both?"
This deck attempts to utilize the aggressiveness of swarming with small creatures, while also controlling the board through detain, exiling their creatures or just tapping them.
With the recently spoiled Ephara, God of the Polis, my idea for a deck became real, as many of these cards are full of devotion and one other thing. You may notice that I have a theme of bringing cards back to my hand with various engines. Why would I want to bring my own creatures back if this is aggro?
Well, consider this:
You control an Ephara, God of the Polis,
Lyev Skyknight
,
Azorius Arrester
, and have 4 mana.
You tap two of the 4 mana to play Deputy of Acquittals and return an
Azorius Arrester
to your hand.
You then play this
Azorius Arrester
again and detain an important creature of theirs.
You attack with Ephara, God of the Polis and
Lyev Skyknight
(that both happen to be unblocked because you just ruined their defense with detain! Woohoo!), dealing 9 damage.
They untap and look at the state of the board. They audibly say "Crap!" and scoop.
This deck has some crazy interactions and just all together synergizes well. If I wasn't building this on a budget I would add...well, nothing. This deck functions as a great beatdown by turning their cards into book weights again and again, while drawing you cards over and over.
I will give a card by card description (that I will update along with changes to the decklist) when I have time.
