Sure thing man! I always sideboard graveyard hate like Tormod's Crypt, Relic of Progenitus, Surgical Extraction, and Ground Seal (since you're running green). Artifact/enchantment hate is always handy with cards like Naturalize, Creeping Corrosion, and the like. Lastly, some spot removal like Beast Within, Rapid Hybridization, Turn to Frog, Dismember, etc. is good to have.
Those are good general cards for all kinds of match ups. Certain match ups may require Torpor Orb, Witchbane Orb, Dissipate, Flashfreeze, etc. Depends on the meta game...

Soothsaying would fit well, although it might be a little slow.

Soothsaying is Legacy legal, but not Modern... Too bad Sensei's Divining Top is banned in Modern! Index is the next best thing other than Serum Visions.

Funny how the one of the tags are budget, might want to remove that :) Otherwise loved the deck, +1'd!

ChocoCookiez budget is all about opinion. And believe it or not, the price of this deck is very cheap compared to most solid Modern decks lol. Thank you though for +1 :)

why Spreading Seas? whats the point of it exactly? is it to be played against non blue decks to slow them down? im unsure
March 17, 2013 9:43 p.m.
@Dreno33 yes to slow people down, and even if somebody has blue in their deck a lot of the times they will have another color also. so you could change a shock land into just an island.

Counterlash? most of the time just counter a non creature spell and play one of yours for free. but if you happen to draw one of your two creaures. that would be fricken hilarious. i counter your Caregiver, smell my Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. lol

Counterlash has a 6 CMC, which is highly impractical unless you're playing some awesome ramp, Tron, or 12 Post. Granted, it is a REALLY fun card, however it may have more EDH applications than other comstructed formats (save the aforementioned archetypes).
Typically, by turn 6 it's game over. Dude can Polymorph turn 4... Perhaps against control, tempo, etc. Counterlash could be a good sideboard card... Dunno.

Spreading Seas is decent card draw, screws opponent, and makes sure Islandwalk can be used. Like Inkwell Leviathan, hint hint. cough cough

Most of the polymorph decks I've seen at a modern tourney aren't Emrakul unless they have Reanimator/show and tell/ mass polymorph. This deck could turn into a Mass Polymorph deck pretty easily if you simply added some neutering creatures like Iona, Shield of Emeria Myojin of Infinite Rage and Urabrask the Hidden. Basically get 4 tokens out, ramp into mass poly, say your opponents can't cast 1 of their color identity, creatuers you control have haste, armageddon, sacrifice 6 permanents (blockers), instagib you.
Though it requires a lot more investment in tokens to sac. but a couple saproling tokens and the O/1 plant token land helps. should also consider Blinkmoth Nexus and Origin Spellbomb.

Weston Ayarza Thanks for commenting! That idea seems really cool I may look into that! I have only played this deck against my friends and it has done EXTREMELY well, but I doubt it would win a single game in a modern FNM of some sort :/ we will see I guess

Also with the green, he/she (I don't know) is able to include Farseek , and Growth Spasm if he/she needs lands. Making the deck UW will take that out. With only two creatures in the deck (minus tokens) Farseek is really useful, in getting Progenitus or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn out a turn earlier, especially against some of the faster decks out there.
Also, to KONFUSION, awesome deck! +1 from me!

I'm planning on writing an article for budget Modern decks, would you be ok with me featuring this in the article?
June 27, 2013 10:39 p.m.
xzzane I would be honored to have my deck be in an article! I just ask that I am credited for my deck and if you could post a link of where I can read the article after its done. :)
June 27, 2013 11:37 p.m.
Of course you would be credited, and I'll make sure to send you a link when it's done.

Hey, I hope you don't mind, but I think I'm going to save this for the 2nd article that I'm going to make. One thing I want to be able to do with my articles is to get other decks out there, but I want to include at least one deck that is recognized to be very good (40 or higher upvotes is what I'll be using to determine this), and I'd like for your deck to be that in the 2nd article.

xzzane sounds good to me man! Is this for a blog or what exactly?
