I got tired of having to deal with my win conditions dying in the classic Kiln Fiend deck, and decided to add something to it. Precursor Golem, while a bit late-game, adds another 4 (or 12, depending on how you look at it) creatures to the deck that you can pump to absurd levels, and can get equally scary with an Assault Strobe or Distortion Strike.

Removal is generally a problem with this deck, so I put a largish disruption package in: 4x Turn Aside and 2x Mana Leak to deal with non-burnable problems.

Although I agree with some comments on other Kiln Fiend decks that Flame Slash wins out over Lightning Bolt, damage to planeswalkers is still an important part of the Lightning Bolt list of pros, and warrants a couple of copies.

The 4-drop spot is pretty open due to the notable absence of Foresee, but that's okay. That should be when I go off with the Kiln Fiend: Assault Strobe and Distortion Strike with a couple of mana left open for Turn Asides or a Mana Leak fits 4 perfectly.
