Pretentious Pauper: Flying Fish

Casual

nventrr

Sideboard

My own take on Lintage, except with the modern banlist and some more bannings that me and a friend came up with:

PRETENTIOUS PAUPER

Pretentious Pauper is the official RMHS tournament format. It resulted from a desire to have inclusive tournaments that were not dominated by one archetype or deck that came from a more powerful collection. The rules are there to level the playing field for everybody, while not depriving the format of power, and not crippling those who have spent huge amounts on elaborate collections. The idea is to even the playing field, but still not restrict creativity in brewing significantly.

Note: While Pauper was originally made for tournaments, it can still be used as a framework for casual games, at the discretion of players of course.Overarching Rules: No more Than 8 total rares in your deck. One of these rares can be a mythic. No Fetchlands (Arid Mesa, Misty Rainforest, Scalding Tarn, etc.) or shocklands (i.e. Blood Crypt)No more than two copies of a given rare, or three copies of an uncommon.Legacy Card Pool is used, cards on the banned list cannot be used. The banned list is comprised of the legacy and modern ban lists, plus the other cards listed.15 card sideboard is allowed, and rares/mythics/uncommons are not included in the restricted totals, but the rare/mythic count must stay the same post-board

Tacit Rules/ Gentlemans Agreement/ EthosPlease understand this tournament is meant to be fair and fun for all. Make decks that are fun to play and fun to play against as much as possible. NO DEGENERACY. An appeal of degeneracy can be submitted, and jury of the uninvolved players can vote to disqualify guilty player. Any accusations cannot be made without reasonable suspicion of rules infringement. If no rules are broken, but a deck seems to break the ethos of the format, then AFTER THE TOURNAMENT, we can all agree on if a deck is broken, and should be banned. Note: the banned list should involve discretion, and will not be designed to hose decks, but simply to keep the format fun for everybody.
