I was going to say that you might deck yourself running only two non-permanents, but then I noticed the Akroma's Memorial giving your stuff haste. Good on that

Why not use Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse in place of the fetches so you don't lose the life every time?

Nevermind, I remember why those are good.

You should throw in some Karametra's Acolyte, really use that green devotion

No Tooth and Nail? seems like it would be easier through in some Stomping Grounds and a Xenagos, God of Revels and you should probably win even more!

I really like this deck. I just thought I would suggest some creatures that came to mind. Leatherback Baloth; Nylea, God of the Hunt; Predator Ooze; Khalni Hydra; and/or Primalcrux.

Finnithy, I feel you on the tooth and nail and xenagos. Trust me, they were in at one point. But this deck wins on its own and I didn't like what tooth and nail did to the combo. I know you can fetch Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Xenagos, God of Revels to just win. But Akroma's Memorial serves the haste purpose and it does it for all my creatures so during a combo turn I can have my elves and satyrs come into play and immediately tap for more mana. Keeping the non-permanents down to two is a must in this deck. Thanks for the support!

Jacobshoemaker51, I like Karametra's Acolyte but here are a few reasons I excluded her. She is inherently slow, requiring at least some devotion before she pays off. She costs a considerable ammount; given the fact that all the four drops in my deck are so much better at the moment. Eidolon is absolutely broken and Garruk is essential to the mana ramp. Finally, and most importantly, she isn't an enchantment creature. You will see why this is so important if you put the deck together. You literally won't be able to count the ETB triggers with this deck!

Zeal, I love all those creatures but they all seem a bit win more. Nylea, God of the Hunt is good BC it's an enchant too but by the time that's relevant, who really needs an ulamog or emrakul with trample? Haha and the other guys are just beefy dudes with lots of devo. They belong in stompy and other devotion decks. I am trying to keep this as streamlined and combo oriented as possible. Also, Kessig Wolf Run was in here but it was a win more card too. More often than not, it could have been another forest or Ghost Quarter and I could have won all the same.

The_Redpill, decking yourself is never an issue because Primal Surge is a "may" ability. You can stop the combo at any time. If this weren't the case you would definitely deck yourself because the Eidolon of Blossoms is not a "may" ability. So be carefully to count your draw triggers before you put your whole deck on the field. Once the surge resolves, you have to draw a card for each eidolon trigger and you will lose. The key is to resolve the surge, and even if you don't have all the combo pieces on the field, you have enough land, elves, Garruks to just hard cast anything else that you drew!

You should probably put a few Beast Withins or Melira, Sylvok Outcast in the sideboard to stop Infect because I have played Infect against a similar deck and won 9 out of the 10 games we played. Generally no matter how fast and consistent a mono-G ramp deck is, it still can't stop wins on turns 2,3 and 4.

Nice! I personally love Beast Within but can't do it in this deck since it's an instant. Taking out 3 Pelakka Wurm from SB and adding 3 Melira, Sylvok Outcast thank you!

Do any of you know how to post videos on a deck page? I'd like to post the aforementioned game on here.

Hahahahaha at

Wins more than it should.

Plus 1 for a nice build as well

Maybe out of scope for the deck,

I'm not too familiar with these decks.

Deathrender ?

@BrandonJamesCAC I just don't know what that card really does for the deck. More often than not, I have no creatures in hand by turn 2-4. Paying 6 mana for an artifact doesn't seem that great. We aren't really interested in cheating the fatties in that way. The eldrazi' cast triggers don't even happen then. They don't trigger off of Primal Surge either but the prospect of hitting an Akroma's Memorial to give them haste offsets that draw back. Thanks for taking a look! I would say maybe if it were some sort of enchantment.

Makes sense!

I think a few Boseiju, Who Shelters All might be good for this deck. Primal Surge is your main win con, and once that clock gets past Turn 3, your odds of it resolving decrease significantly.

Yeah I ran a copy for quite a while and I can't really remember why it came out. I never really used it. But I know the day will come where my back is against the wall and my opponent has countermagic up. I will throw in a copy once more. But honestly, surge has been about a 60/40% win con in testing. It goes off a lot but it's also very common to just go off on turn 3 or 4 with enchantment draw triggers and hard cast Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. The one thing that I am fearful of is the the one land hand where Boseiju, Who Shelters All is all I have. The deck takes a one land hand and just wins... But it needs to be a Forest. T1 Forest is a MUST for this deck. Thanks for checkin the deck out! Will go add now

limpNuZZle oh I didn't catch the 'may' clause on it. Also, to insert a video, I believe you do:

With all the fetches, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a forest in your hand. Still, would swap it for a Ghost Quarter rather than a forest, unless there's some important reason for running Ghost Quarter than I'm not seeing here. It's a handy land, but against a lot of decks you won't need it. Maybe move one of them to the sideboard, and then board out Boseiju if your opponent isn't playing blue?

February 4, 2016 7:20 p.m.

limpNuZZle says... #23

Ghost quarter is for Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx in the mirror, blowing up my own land that Merfolk puts a Spreading Seas on, etc. in modern there are so many uses for Ghost Quarter. But I may just side them out though. I will test more. Thank you and I'll keep you posted on what testing reveals.

February 4, 2016 7:36 p.m.

NoSoyYucateco says... #24

Yeah, Ghost Quarter is definitely worth having, but I would imagine as a mainboard option, your Boseiju should see more use. The number of mono-color decks that use Nykthos for devotion is quite a bit smaller than the number of decks that run counterspells.

At any rate, the deck looks sick. I play Primal Surge with Concordant Crossroads in Commander. I'm a big proponent of it.

I know how this deck will end up in my hands: Perfect turn 3 combo: reveal the 2nd Primal Surge with the ability. .-.
