In games two and three, yes. It works and your opponent thinks he just figured out your game plan...

This is bad, can't get T2 win.

You would be correct.. The deck does not win on turn two. Is this your criteria for any "good" deck? Even a high percentage of tier one modern decks do not win games by turn two. Only a portion have the capability, and often do not actually execute the t2 win. The fact that this is a brew and holds its own against most tier one decks tickles the shit out of me. It was never meant to win any Grand Prix man. To say the deck "isn't good" is a bit of a disservice to magic.. The whole point is to come up with your own creations that are fun and allow competition to flourish writhin the community. This deck checks off all the boxes in my opinion. I enjoy it, but you can't make everyone happy I suppose.

I'm pretty sure he was trolling. I doubt anybody thinks this deck is outright bad, especially for that weak reasoning. I mean, Pod didn't win on turn 2, and neither did Twin (when both were legal), yet they were the best decks in the format for a long while. Good enough to ban obviously lol.

Lol I hope he was trolling cause even bad decks belong on tapped out! How else do players become better? The vets get on and give them tips and things of that nature. I have only been playing for about three years so I welcome any input on any of my decks. And yeah, the ability to win on turn two is dope, but so few decks have that capability. And those that do are likely inconsistent at doing it. Thanks for the support man.

limpNuZZle That guy is either joking or mentally ill, this deck is great and I recommend parts of the strategy to a lot of people. I'm glad that you're considering Villainous Wealth because it is one of my favorite cards. I used to use it as a finisher in my standard sultai toolbox deck with green devotion. When I wasn't using the Kiora's Follower + Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx + Singing Bell Strike for infinite mana and untaps, I was hitting the opponent for around 20 cards with my foil Villainous Wealth. They usually just scooped without flipping the cards off their deck

Any tips on playing this against blue tron? The majority of my spells are countered early game and then an oblivion stone or ugin come down and that's game.

Alright I will have this built very soon except a more budget version... Mainly just using cards I already had. And then buying the cheaper (<$5 per card) ones I didn't have. Aka Rootbound crag over fetches, fervor over akroma's memorial, 1ea world spine wurm, colossus of akros, and hydra broodmaster. Oh and I already had fertile grounds I'm gonna try them over overgrowth...

Yeah tips are to play around their mana leak and x counter spells. Play small stuff early. Keep Garrick's in hand until the turn they win the game for you. Board in Acidic Slimes and let the Ghost Quarters do the heavy lifting. Should have no problem with this match. I win like 70% against blue tron. Unless they just get natural tron into Karn on t3. But still, you should have a ghost quarter by then. I mul aggressively to have either a ghost quarter or slime in my opener.

Thoughts on Burning-Tree Emissary? I used to run this deck online with pretty good success, its an absolute blast, and burning tree's synergize well with Primal Surge for mana right at the beginning.

Since you are experimenting with Villainous Wealth, I think Banefire could also be a good alternative win condition in the sideboard. It's already super easy for you to produce red mana, and the fact that it can't be countered seems helpful against control. Speaking of control, I think Dosan the Falling Leaf could also be good in the sideboard.

Awesome, Dosan goes to my wishlist, and i also wanted to propose Banefire - it seems wicked good.

limpNuZZle says... #15

Yeah Banefire is cool. I use it as an alt win con in an eggs deck. The thing is, the deck is a machine that gets you "there." What you want to do once you're there is really up to you. It all wins the same. Just ramp up, combo off, and win the game. Done

This looks like an amazing deck. I'm looking to get into Modern and at around $350 this list isn't too ridiculous. And considering you win % I think I might even want to take it to a GP.

Thanks man! Yeah you can get 85% of the deck for like $5 haha. So proxy the eldrazi, Akroma's Memorial, fetches, and Garruk Wildspeakers for a few games before you make the real investment. Also, Windswept Heath works in place of Wooded Foothills since they do the same thing in a mono G deck and they are like half the price.

Fortunately I already have a playset of Ulamog's and the fetches so I'd just run those. The more I think about this deck the more excited I get about it. I absolutely love theme decks.

Awesome man. It really is a good time. It's very consistent. If you know the modern meta pretty well, you will have success. By nature, it is prone to blowouts against control, but can be easily avoided.

March 10, 2016 1:02 p.m.

Maybe I'm just horrible at this whole mtg thing, but what is the point of running dual fetches in a mono-green deck?

March 10, 2016 3:42 p.m.

limpNuZZle says... #21

The fetches, however debatable it may be, are for thinning your deck and ensuring that you have access to red via Stomping Ground for Kessig Wolf Run. The later being more important. Also, another synergy that I really enjoy is having the capability to fetch a land in response to drawing an "undesirable" card if you have Courser of Kruphix on board. If you are all dressed up with nowhere to go (great board state but no finisher), the last thing you want to draw is a forest off the top. So when a forest is revealed on top, you crack the fetch for a "chance" and a better draw. All slightly minimal impacts, but together they warrant the inclusion of fetch lands.

Also, budget players have asked why not Evolving Wilds instead. My answer is because t1 green mana is of upmost importance and I don't ever ever ever want an opening hand with which that isn't possible.

Turn 4 Primal Surge, had 5 cards left in my deck. Opponent had a solitary island left after it Primal surge resolved. Went 3-1 tonight. 2-0 against RG Eldrazi, 2-1 against UB Eldrazi, 2-1 Scapeshift and 0-2 against a different scapeshift build]

Why no Primalcrux?!

March 12, 2016 2:02 p.m.

limpNuZZle says... #25

Because it's just a win more card. It doesn't help me on turns 1-3. If I cast Primal Surge, I'd rather put more threatening cards into play. Also, if I'm going to have to hard cast my threats, I want a more immediate impact. Because let's face it... I will not untap with Primalcrux under most circumstances.
