[Primer] Blink And You'll Miss Him! (Atris Cedh)

Commander / EDH Combo Competitive Infinite Combo Primer Tempo UB (Dimir)

Feebs24

This deck uses the legend from Theros Beyond Death, Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths, to abuse powerful etb abilities so slow down her opponents and eventually win by an infinite combo or by simply grinding them out. The deck definitely isn't perfect and I am glad to look over any suggestions in the comments. Thank you. The rest of the description is a rundown of how the deck works and the main way it wins, so keep reading if you're interested.
This deck tries to control the game until it can combo off. It has many counter spells and other tempo pieces (such as bouncing creatures) to make sure none of your opponents win before you do. It also has a list of tutors to make sure that you find your combo pieces consistently. The deck contains two main ways to win, which are explained in the following panels.
The deck can be complex at times but the main plan mostly stays the same. You want to slow your opponents down as much as you can and get as much value from your etb effects as you can and hold off until you can assemble your infinite. The main combo is to have a spell returner (Archaeomancer or Salvager of Secrets) with a dual flicker spell (Displace or Ghostly Flicker) and a land untap creature (Great Whale, Peregrine Drake, Palinchron or Cloud of Faeries if you have a Panharmonicon). Once you have the three of them, the combo begins. The loop can look a little like this...
1- Cast Displace targeting Archaeomancer and Great Whale -
2- Great Whale will flicker and untap 7 lands. If most of your lands are already untapped here, tap them in response to the trigger to float the mana +
3- Archaeomancer will flicker and the trigger to bring back an instant or sorcery will bring back the Displace
4- Recast Displace for 3 mana, and gain 7 mana with Great Whale
5- Repeat
This can be looped forever to gain you infinite mana. Then, once you have infinite mana, you can draw your entire deck. For this, you will simply cast Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths.

Basically, you want to do the exact combo from earlier, except instead of flickering a land untap creature, you flicker Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths to draw cards.
1- Cast Displace targeting Archaeomancer and Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths
2- Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths will flicker and you will begin to draw cards.
3- Archaeomancer will flicker and the trigger to bring back an instant or sorcery will bring back the Displace
4- Repeat this process until you have found a win-con (See below)
Then, the deck has three possible ways to win, Thassa's Oracle, Time Warp, or Agent of Treachery. Thassa's Oracle is pretty self-explanatory; cast Thassa's Oracle to win the game. If you find an Agent of Treachery, do the same combo from earlier, except replace Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths with Agent of Treachery. This will allow you to steal every permanent your opponents control.

From there, killing them should be easy as you can continue to steal their permanents every turn. The third way to kill your opponents is with Time Warp. First you need to cast either a Panharmonicon to pair with your Archaeomancer, or just have a card:Scholar of Ages (Which should be easy to find since you can draw as many cards as you want), because you will need to be getting back 2 instants/sorceries per flicker.
1- Cast Time Warp
2- Flicker the card:Archeomancer / card:Scholar of Ages with any flicker spell
3- With their etb trigger, return the Time Warp and the flicker spell to your hand
4- Recast the Time Warp and take infinite turns
Once you have assembled this combo you never let your opponents have another turn and you can simply beat them down with your creatures slowly and painfully (or they just concede because they see you're taking INFINITE TURNS)

This deck also contains Demonic Consultation and Tainted Pact. If you are a player of Cedh, you will probably know these cards. Basically, they allow us to mill our entire deck all by themselves. The effect paired with Thassa's Oracle is an instant win. This can either be the main way you win, or a backup wincon (It all depends on how you play the deck). Personally, I prefer to win with the infinite flicker combo because people usually don't expect it (and honestly, it is WAY more fun). But, if Thassa's Oracle is in your hand, then this route to victory can be easier, and more efficient.
If you like the deck, but not the price, I have a cheaper version of the same combo deck on my profile. If you're looking for a budget option, check out this deck list. Semi-Budget Atris Combo

There is a lot more to the deck than meets-the-eye, it is a fun tempo deck with a sweet combo win. What more is there to ask for? I plan on tweaking the deck until I think I have perfected it, but until then I will gladly look over suggestions for cards. Much of the deck, especially the mana base, can be budgeted. This list is the version that I use in paper, but much of it can be replaced if you prefer to have a more budget option. Thank you for sticking with me through the whole rundown and I hope that you all have a great rest of your day. :)
