A slight update for everyone:

OUT:

IN:

Etherium Sculptor really wasn't doing very much for the deck. The discount was negligible and often times unneeded. Future Sight was barely every played, and I feel like there are better ways to be able to go through your deck to get what is needed.

Dark Confidant will be a fine inclusion, as it will let us dig deeper into our decks at the cost of a little life. Our curve is low (and now a bit lower) so the loss of life won't hurt us badly. Lim-Dul's Vault is the best way to dig through your deck and find what you need. It's cheaper to play than Future Sight, and can also set up the next few draws as well.

hate to ask this, but for the life of me, I cannot find your friends deck on mtgsalvation... do you have it's title, or a link to it?

Do you mind explaining to me how Sensei's Divining Top and infinite mana draw the entire deck?

December 18, 2016 2:24 p.m.

Guerte says... #5

Enral: You use Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth to make infinite mana. Activate Top's draw ability, copy with Rings, let the ability resolve, drawing you a card and putting SDT on top of your library. You still have one Top ability on the stack, so that one resolves and you draw the Top and since Top is no longer on the Battlefield, you don't put it on top of your library. Cast SDT again and repeat.

Guerte: Thanks, that makes sense now. Would be awesome if you would take a look at my interpretation of bomberman breya! +1

This deck looks fun and powerful! I don't have Breya yet but if I get her I'll refer to this deck to lay the groundwork! Also how did you change the background on the page? I have a Krenko primer that i'd love to do this to!

Guerte says... #9

Enral: No problem! I will surely give it a look.

CrazyGood-MTG9797 While it does have nice synergy and can increase the clock when comboing off, I feel like it's a redundant piece that could be something more useful. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

choonami: I appreciate that! And the background is a code that you add into the description.

The actual discussion of cards on this deck as opposed to Yes and No gets my +1.

How resilient is this deck? Can you normally recover from a Shatterstorm/Vandalblast effect? Or do they never even resolve? Second Sunrise seems like a card that may be able to protect from this (or an opposing Armageddon), but may be too narrow.

December 29, 2016 10:17 a.m.

Guerte says... #11

Bovine073: Thank you very much! I'd rather explain to people why I don't use specific cards so they can understand my thought process. I feel it's a lot better and helps people out more than just a straight Yes or No.

As far as resiliency goes, as with any artifact-based deck, any kind of mass artifact-hate will set the deck back significantly. Second Sunrise could be a good addition to the deck to help fight that. As it stands, Scrap Mastery is the only effect like that I run, as it can also double as removal for opposing artifacts, and with the amount of tutors in the deck, shouldn't be that hard to get in case it does happen.

As far as the interaction with Armageddon, luckily my playgroup doesn't play too much, if any, MLD cards, so I feel I am safe from that aspect.

Guerte I think that choonami was talking about the one that sets behind everything. I got this same code from you a while back and it does nothing but puts a picture into the description.

December 29, 2016 12:22 p.m.

Guerte says... #13

LTmiller: That's the exact same code I copied directly from this page. It's got to be something to do with your settings or something. If you're having problems, I'd probably hit up the forums and ask there.

This is a very well constructed deck. This feels much better than many of the artifact centric Breya builds I have seen. I know you have a couple of ways to cheat fat artifacts into play, but Trading Post, Gilded Lotus, and Chromatic Lantern feel a bit expensive for what you get out of them and hit you hard with ad nauseam. I personally would prefer the talismans since they lower your cc, come down faster and allow you to interact or tutor that same turn. I also would suggest Notion Thief and Winds of Change. They are essential if you decide to go with the dd gameplan

Lilbrudder: Thank you for commenting. I appreciate the compliment.

Do you think there it's possible to keep Displacer/Deathmantle combo in here, alongside the Doomsday package?

I'm really wanting this to be consistent and fast, but also not too bogged down with multiple combos. I'm not wanting this to be a carbon copy of yours, but I do like the ideas that you presented in your build.

December 30, 2016 1:28 p.m.

Lilbrudder says... #16

I totally get that. I think displacer really needs to go. It has exactly one other target in your deck and its hard to tutor for. I know it has utility as a disruption piece but 6 mana for one blink feels unplayable. I think KKI and Deathmantle still have a place in your deck since you have such a high concentration of artifacts. Im guessing they will rarely be dead draws since you can bait removal or transmute/sac them into something else.

I apologize if you have already explained this, but what are your thoughts on Memory Jar? I know its fat, but you have plenty of ways to abuse the card and it fits thematically. It was up there with Mindslaver and Sandstone Oracle as my favorite welder targets.

Hi Guerte! This is a nice list.

You made an error in your primer about Pili-Pala: It doesn't suffer from summoning sickness. You do not need haste to start an infinite mana combo with Grand Architect. It just need both cards and to go off!

January 1, 2017 5:32 p.m.

Lilbrudder says... #18

I think summoning sickness applies to as well as unfortunately :-/

January 1, 2017 6:29 p.m.

Guerte says... #19

Lilbrudder: I'm definitely a fan of Memory Jar, but more so in my Daretti deck than in here. I'm wanting to combo off as fast as I can, so I'm contemplating taking out the Displacer/Deathmantle combos and running Worldgorger combo instead, and would hopefully be close to winning before needing Memory Jar. I could also be completely wrong.

Stefouch: Lilbrudder is correct. It's still affected by summoning sickness.

302.6. A creature's activated ability with the tap symbol or the untap symbol in its activation cost can't be activated unless the creature has been under its controller's control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. A creature can't attack unless it has been under its controller's control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. This rule is informally called the "summoning sickness" rule.

For what it's worth, I've dropped Displacer for Notion Thief and have been enjoying the change. I use Deathmantle, Gorger, and Bomberman as my main win cons.

I kind of like the idea of keeping Deathmantle so I have at least one way to win that doesn't result in me immediately losing the game if interrupted by more than one opponent (my, uh, new meta is pretty rough to combo in. Imagine comboing off with Worldgorger with 2 counters in hand plus the right amount of mana floating to cast them, but three players try to deal with Gorger with ETB on the stack. First two players got their spells countered, or, well, would have if the third player didn't cast a Pact of Negation that he couldn't even pay the 3UU for since he was color screwed).

Guerte says... #21

PookandPie: I'm currently testing out George in place of Displacer and Deathmantle, completely cutting out those combos. I've added in Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Dance of the Dead to help out with Bomberman Intuition piles, and have also added in Angel of Glory's Rise to aid in a Buried Alive pile with Auriok Salvagers and Trinket Mage plus reanimation spell in hand.

Nintura: Not yet. I'm still testing them out to see if I like them or not. Once I feel I've tested them enough, and if I decide to stick to the changes, then I will update.
