Some of our Dragons have Haste, but being able to attack with our Dragons as soon as we play them gives our opponents less time to come up with a plan.
-
Atarka, World Render - On Attack, gives all of our Dragons Double Strike. A great target for Finale of Devastation.
-
Balefire Dragon - Whenever it deals combat damage to a player, it deals that much damage to each creature that player controls. Potentially a board wipe on a stick if our opponents don't have any Flying blockers. And with other creatures like Dromoka, the Eternal or Bladewing the Risen, we have some ways to pump up the damage.
-
Bladewing the Risen - When it enters the battlefield, we reanimate a Dragon from our graveyard. And if we have excess mana, we can spend to pump up all Dragons by +1/+1 (All Dragons get this boost, including any Dragons under our opponent's control). I'm sentimental with this card, as I used to have a kitchen table Dragon deck with this guy in it when I was first playing Magic.
-
Darigaaz Reincarnated - In this deck, this is 6 mana for a 7/7 Flying, Trample, Haste beater that is difficult to remove.
-
Dragonlord Dromoka - One of our best Dragons. Once she is out, we can summon The Ur-Dragon without fear of a counterspell or removal.
-
Dragonlord Kolaghan - Her last ability isn't really relevant unless you are up against a Shadowborn Apostle or Relentless Rats deck, but her Haste enabler is invaluable when we want to constantly drop Dragons and attack.
-
Dromoka, the Eternal - Whenever one of our Dragons attack, we Bolster 2, putting two +1/+1 counters on the creature with the lowest Toughness. And this triggers for each attacking Dragon, so if we are attacking with three Dragons, and those are the only creatures on the board, that basically gives us a +6/+6 damage boost each combat phase.
-
Gluttonous Hellkite - Both a powerful attacker and a board wipe! We can sacrifice some of our token Dragons to minimize the damage to our board, while forcing our opponents to sacrifice several creatures.
-
Hellkite Charger - When he attacks, we can pay to untap all our attacking creatures and have another combat phase. Can be repeated if the mana is available.
-
Hellkite Courser - A sneaky way to get The Ur-Dragon into play much earlier than usual, allowing us to take advantage of his attack triggers to draw cards and put a permanent onto the field.
-
Hellkite Tyrant - An alternate win-con, but not one we usually go for. It's a nice way to steal all our opponent's mana rocks, Treasure tokens, and any other artifacts they happen to have.
-
Kilnmouth Dragon - An oldie but goodie, he has Amplify 3, so for each Dragon we reveal from our hand when we cast him, he comes in with that many x 3 +1/+1 counters. He can also tap to deal damage to any target equal to the number of +1/+1 counters on him.
-
Lathliss, Dragon Queen - Every time a non-token Dragon enters the battlefield, we create a 5/5 Dragon. And she can pump the board if we have excess mana.
-
Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm - Almost wanted to make this a Temur deck with her at the helm. Whenever a non-token dragon enters the battlefield, we can create a nonlegendary copy of that dragon. Double The Ur-Dragon anyone? And she has Ward , so she gets a little extra protection from single-target removal.
-
Rith, Liberated Primeval - She can give all our Dragons Ward , which makes it a lot more difficult for our opponents to interact with our board. And, if a creature an opponent controls were dealt excess damage, we create a 4/4 Dragon token.
-
Roaming Throne - This is absolutely, positively, a Dragon, I promise. Because it's definitely a Dragon, we can double up all the Triggered abilities (When, Whenever, At) of our Dragons. Double The Ur-Dragon triggers to draw a ton of cards and free cast two permanents, double Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient trigger to get a ton of Mana, or double Lathliss, Dragon Queen token creation.
-
Scalelord Reckoner - Another defensive creature, whenever a Dragon we control becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, we can destroy any target nonland permanent that player controls.
-
Scion of Draco - While he costs , costs less to cast for each basic land type among lands you control, which our Shock Lands and Triomes can provide. He also gives each creature we control Vigilance if it's white, Hexproof if it's blue, Lifelink if it's black, First Strike if it's red, and Trample if it's green. Tons of beneficial keywords to go around, especially to creatures like The Ur-Dragon or Two-Headed Hellkite.
-
Scourge of the Throne - This dragon has Dethrone (Whenever this creature attacks the player with the most life or tied for most life, put a +1/+1 counter on it.), and when it attacks for the first time each turn, if it's attacking the player with the most life or tied for most life, untap all attacking creatures. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase.
-
Scourge of Valkas - Whenever this or another Dragon enters the battlefield under your control, that Dragon deals damage to any target, where is the number of Dragons you control.
-
Silumgar, the Drifting Death - On attack, we can weaken our opponent's creatures, possibly killing some of the weaker ones.
-
Terror of the Peaks - Has a good defense built in - spells our opponents cast that target Terror of the Peaks cost an additional 3 life to cast. It also has a built-in Impact Tremors - whenever another creature enters the battlefield under your control, Terror of the Peaks deals damage equal to that creature's power to any target.
-
Utvara Hellkite - Whenever a Dragon attacks, we create a 6/6 Dragon. And this trigger works with other tokens, so we can exponentially increase the number of Dragons if left unchecked.
