As directed by Prime Speaker Vannifar, this project was given highest priority to ensure the toughest, most adaptable warriors on Ravnica belong to the Simic. This was achieved with the use of the Ex-Prime Speaker Vig's cytoplasts (note: non-Kraj variant) and the Planeswalker Karn's mysterious technology.

The now Simic-controlled Bastion of Karn allowed for increased project speed. By merging the cytoplasts with the unusual genetic material and technologies within, the cytoplasts can now replicate at an increased rate. Karn's technology has also allowed for the creation of new warriors with similar abilities, including Subject: Roalesk. When combined with replication magic, such as his favoured Blade of Selves, Subject: Roalesk's unique physiology seems to greatly enhance cytoplast replication rates.

The increased rate of cytoplast production has allowed old test subjects, who could previously unable to generate the required cytoplasts, to become important hosts. Subject: Sporeback has been shown to save subjects from death, Subject: Plax has been able to deflect spells and Subject: Squirt can give our forces much needed evasion. (note: Subject: Cyto-Queen to be used against traitors).

Also, some Planswalkers have shown an interest in the Simic Vision. Vivien Reid inspected several Krasis Containment Pools and seems interested in adding several variants to her weapon. The Soratami, Tamiyo, has agreed to several Soratami DNA samples in exchange for low-level research access (she has since left the project). The child, Pir, is also proving to be an invaluable asset to the Simic.

The Simic Ascendancy is nigh!

Removed The Great Hedge, Rhystic Study and Sword of Truth and Justice due to pricing. Moved to Maybeboard.
Removed Snakeform. Not pulling weight.
Added Kodama of the West Tree and returned Everflowing Chalice to Ramp. Kodama has great ramp potential and Team Trample. Chalice pays for Commander Tax (which I keep forgetting when I remove it).
Added Urban Daggertooth to Pro Doublers. Another creature that can proliferate is useful, and a good blocker.
Added Roaring Earth to +1/+1 Generators. It's slow but cheap.
Added Verdant Command to Maybeboard. An odd utility card, might be useful somewhere. TBD.

Video Recording: Head Researcher Silaqui's Office, 10:39pm, 2 PWS

"We're so close to completion," said Roalesk, as he leaned over the desk, his teeth shining like daggers. "All you have to do is sign the forms. So why do you continue to say no?"

"We're not ready, yet," said Silaqui, removing the form from her organised chaos. "We still need to drop the expense cost. We can't ship this project to other sites until we can ensure it won't blow up their budget."

"But Silaqui," grumbled Roalesk, "there are labs in every Zonot waiting for this research. Vannifar herself is getting impatient. Every test has been run a dozen times, and each time you get perfect results..."

"No, not perfect," she said. "There is an anomaly in the results. The cytoplast replicated with Karn-Tech have shown traces amounts of unknown metals in their system. Why is that?"

"It's probably just an Izzet prank. They most likely just injected our samples with Mizzium or something..."

"It's not Mizzium. I would recognise that immediately. No, this is something else..."

"That IT!" shouted Roalesk, slamming his blade through the desk. "I've had it with the delays, Head Researcher. It's been two years since the start of this project and yet, time after time, you are constantly changing the materials for it! Just the other day, I heard you requested a dinosaur, you still can't decide on whether you need the stupid chalice, and what's this I hear about potential squirrels running around?"

"Sir, I..."

"NO MORE!!" said Roalesk, marching to the door. "I'm taking control of this project, Head Researcher, starting..."

"MUM!! There's a package from her!!" Suddenly, the door slammed open, right into Roalesk's nose. Through it ran a small draconic-looking mutant, carrying a brown, twine-tied parcel. Silaqui just shook her head. Caligo had become quite smitten with her team's assisting Planeswalker and, despite his unusual appearance, she seemed to be growing attached to him too.

Roalesk, still gripping his brusied nose, was about to intervene but Silaqui quickly shot a voidslime into his open mouth. He won't get that taste out for at least a week. Caligo would attest to that.

As he reached her, she lent down through her desk. "Well, let's open it!" she said excitedly to her son but when it was opened, only two objects were inside the box; a tree sapling, coated in amber, and a letter.

"Cool! New sample!" cried the child before noticing the letter. "What's it say?! Come on, tell me, please!!"

"Alright, give me a moment!" Silaqui smiled as she removed the letter from it's envelope, excited to here about her latest adventure.

The smile quickly dropped. Something Roalesk noticed.

"What is it?" he asked, removing the deceased slime from his mouth.

"Be thankfully I haven't signed the papers yet," she replied.

Upon the letter was only only six words: "Tamiyo Compleated. Beware Original Karn-Tech".
