Mossbridge Troll and Chameleon Colossus are great game-ender cards with Experiment Kraj . If you like Morphling , then card:Pemmin's Aura is effectively a second one in the deck.

@atencj Very good advice adding a little of Mossbridge Troll and Chameleon Colossus to the experiment. The latest result showed that these addition did not go in vain as it help increase the potency of the mix.

I'm more hesitant about the card:Pemmin's Aura though, I believe that diluting the number of creature element would only hinder the progress of this research. I have already several component to help prime subject Experiment Kraj untap.

A: cool deck, B: awesome notes on the experiment, most scientists now a days don't feel like documenting their mad/brilliant works. =)

How do you feel about combos? There are a few in your colors that may interest you.

If you dislike them I have some other suggestions. Etched Oracle is amazing here and, to a lesser extent, Mindless Automaton . Sage of Fables and Novijen Sages also work. You get the most draw from the Etched Oracle . Its like Arcanis the Omnipotent on a stick.

Anything with the Clockwork mechanic like Clockwork Dragon could be fun as well as anything with the Modular mechanic Arcbound Ravager . (Not him in particular because you don't have the artifacts to support him but the mechanic bears further study.) Sunburst, Opaline Bracers (again not this card but the mechanic itself) while being limited, may have it's uses.

Lastly, the Spike creature type may interest you.

Missed Sage of Fables and the Spike Weaver in the list but the rest stands.

@Ohthenoises How did you do suggestion like you just did, I'm curious about that. I read about it when it was released, never saw how to do it.

But on the topic like you said, fellow scientist, I already have some component that allow me to increase the subject answer, Sage of Fables being my personal favorite. As for the other resources that you labo is proposing me are not as good in my eyes but I should find a way to incorporate at least one to my mixture as it's the thing I'm usually missing in long testing sessions. Either I have it all or none.

I will analyze the data you offered me and will look on how to improve the success rates of the experiment.

I theorize that Etched Oracle will net you more results than Sage of Fables alone, I believe that you should make efforts to pair them together for the good of the experiment.

2 counters = 1 card v.s. 4 counters = 3 cards

4 counters will net you 1/2 more cards than 2 counters.

Actually I found that you've made a simple miscalculation.

Sage of Fables only requires one counter to be able to draw one cards, but it cost 2 mana to do so. If we look at the following graphic

We can see that although Etched Oracle have the highest Efficiency he's lacking in both his ability to proliferate and immediate use. As opposed to Sage of Fables that have a medium ability to proliferate but her ability to be used immediately depend on the board state.

Some other important data that we need to look here is whether or not are those engine able to take their counter from other sources. And only Sage of Fables and Novijen Sages are able to do so.

Yes, Etched Oracle is a more than valid choice, that I'm currently figuring out at the moment, but I'd say that Sage of Fables raw power is bigger.

A good addition could be Momir Vig, Simic Visionary If you are just running blue/green it is a perfect control card

As you might have noticed about this research, it runs very limited supply of specific searching tool. The main idea behind this experiment is to never expect the same experiment to happen twice and searching tool reduce the possibility and versatility it can have.

Sure sometime the experiment run short, but it's part of the experimentation. Even though some items are classified as top of the line, this experiment is mostly for the sake of experimentation. It is mostly why you can see that neither Momir Vig, Simic Visionary nor Edric, Spymaster of Trest are part of this testing process.

Have you considered Inexorable Tide ? It seems amazing with all of the +1/+1 counters running amok.

@stitcher_yukora Consistency have been proven quite solidly with this experiment several time, as much as I've considered your recommendation before you pointed those to the research I found that they are a bit lacking. This project try to keep as much as possible creature heavy making my main test subject able to interact easily with the other elements of this experiment.

And as for your second recommendation, Horseshoe Crab , there is already 7 other creature type element that make our subject unleash several time his power.

Thank you for sharing a bit of your knowledge with this experiment it's gladly appreciated.

With Gatecrash around the corner and a new guild leader in charge of old experiments what are your thoughts on the new lines of research? Would you like to Evolve from their new works or to stay along your current line of progress?

Experiment One seems like the new guild leader has thoughts on how to make the Experiment Kraj obsolete but little does Prime Speaker Zegana know that she is just fueling his slimy fire. Zameck Guildmage could also find work to do here.

A temporary blockade formed by a new Simic Charm could come in very handy should anyone dare to interrupt the experiment in progress.

I've never seen Unexpected Results like this before and would love to see this in action.

What is the primary win condition for this deck?

What is your budget?

March 28, 2013 5:38 p.m.

agGravity says... #20

@Epochalyptik I'd consider having a medium budget, I believe that without any ABUR land my deck price shouldn't get above 500$, but I prefer to make my alteration after I actually built my dream decklist. In our playgroup we accept proxies, we have a friend whose deck are basicly 100% proxies (even Basics).

I intend to make my win condition mostly around Experiment Kraj and combos be it making it voltron or swinging with a huge army. With the last update, I believed I increase the possibility of going Infinite mana which have proven to be quite a bother with previous testing. I prefer to keep it relatively casual, but still able to hold against most situation. In our main playgroup. we have a Damia, Sage of Stone 's deck that play quite heavy control policeman style; it's the main reason I've recently included Cauldron of Souls in my latest update.

The other decks that my closest friends runs are: Wort, the Raidmother EDH, Thromok EDH, Nath of the guilt-leaf, Damia, Sage of stone and a soon to be Zur the Enchanter (not the final version of any deck, but should be close). Not all deck are played at the same time as you can see, some come from the same person, but we tend to lend deck easily. I don't want to be only built around those deck but it's a good thing not to be defenceless against a fully pumped army of elves or a Thromok the Insatiable getting Fling ed for 55+ damages

I'd also like to reduce a bit the necessity of putting Kraj into play to win. I don't want to hold a counterspell and a huge mana backup every time I want to drop Kraj into play. If I could find combo not around Kraj that would help him to go out without losing the fun aspect of playing with and against it.

I know it seems a lot but this deck is actually my baby, it's my most thought out deck, I believe it would fits in most semi-casual meta and is really, but I mean REALLY, fun to pilot.

If something seems out of budget on your first impression, include it, I'll make the last call on cards I can and cannot afford.

How about Asceticism to protect your commander?

March 29, 2013 3:57 a.m.

Cards I would drop:
Echo Mage - slow, expensive to level up, and vulnerable
Elvish Aberration - too expensive
Leech Bonder - seems somewhat difficult to use properly, and its effect is a bit slow
Morphling - I don't really see an advantage to playing this card besides perhaps buffing your general
Novijen Sages - too expensive
Simic Ragworm - too limited unless you want to focus on certain combos
Spike Weaver - too slow
Thornling - same as Morphling
Mystic Genesis - too slow

Krosan Restorer seems conditionally good. How does it perform?

34 is a very low land count, especially since you have little ramp. I advise going to at least 36 and also including cards like Sol Ring , Mana Vault , Nature's Lore , Search for Tomorrow , Skyshroud Claim , etc.

March 29, 2013 5:17 p.m.

agGravity says... #23

@Epochalyptik

Krosan Restorer mostly allow my Experiment Kraj to get infinite mana from one of the 6 untap method I currently have in this deck. Only Gilder Bairn doesn't allow infinite mana with Krosan Restorer but instead provides infinite counter.

I fell that if I were to drop all of Leech Bonder , Morphling and Simic Ragworm , I would be lest with simply not enough untapping to be able to go infinite.

For Thornling I fell like his ability are all extremely relevant for Kraj. Haste is simply good as haste. Trample allow me that once I have infinite counters on Kraj I can finish pretty much anybody and not get block by that 1/1 colorless spirit he received from some Forbidden Orchard and Indestructibility is just wise in the Meta I have with the policeman deck I mentioned earlier.

Would you recommend that I replace Leech Bonder with Knacksaw Clique whose untap abilty also serves as winning condition.

For Mystic Genesis , I just cannot not play it as I have an awesome Signed/Altered Art made by Mike Bierek.

I'll take your advise for the mana along with the ramp. I'll take your advise on Echo Mage , Elvish Aberration , Novijen Sages and Morphling along with the replacement of Leech Bonder .

I'm only resilient on Spike Weaver , his foglike ability has proven quite useful over the games I had with deck that Overrun you for the kill like some of my friends deck.

@isEpicwin I believe my problem with Asceticism , is just that it's a card I just hate SOOO much to see in front of me that I'm usually reluctant to play it. I'm still considering it tho. Thanks for the help.

March 29, 2013 10:12 p.m.

You mentioned that you wanted to use combos, but also that you wanted to build for a casual environment. I'm just confused as to how you want to mesh the two. Combos are probably the least casual approach to EDH.

When I build combo decks, I find it important to only include cards that are good outside of combos. You don't really want anything in your deck to be useless at any point.

March 29, 2013 10:47 p.m.

agGravity says... #25

@Epochalyptik

I believe that with my playgroup, considering people have quite the chance to simply pull a win out of the blue. Be it a conspired Banefire with Wort, the Raidmother or a fully fed Thromok the Insatiable , but my playgroup tend to be able to win on a very short time. I don't believe a semi-casual combo deck will cause too much problem; I'll ton it down if it's really a problem.

But as far as I can name, in Multiplayer EDH, burn and milling are much harder win condition to achieve without combo. So I'm left with Aggro, Voltron or a massive concede from a lockedout or statis board. I don't think this deck has lots of way of winning outside combos or strong synergies to pump several creatures.

What would do you find fits or doesn't fits in the deck I'm looking to build? What piece do you consider useless? What piece are REALLY lacking this deck?

Once again thanks again, I'll make sure to complete my offer as soon as I have this deck figured out.
