I have always wanted to make a non traditional control deck and I have found a way.
Thrummingbird - A key 1/1 flyer that gives the ability to proliferate, if these are not dealt with quickly, the game can quickly get out of hand.
Thought Gorger - The key with this is entering with a counter on the card with which you can proliferate. It also has the added bonus of discarding your hand and drawing X cards when need be.
Carnifex Demon - A staple to running this deck effectively, it can shut down the board turn by turn and is the MVP of the deck. There have been numerous cases where I have had 2 of these out at turn 6.
Phyrexian Metamorph - This card is stricly in there to help in a certain situation, is it so versatile that I have been debating adding 2 more.
Necropede - I was originally running this with 3 for the infect but it was underwhelming. This is in here stricly to add an infect counter and give the deck avenue for a victory. If the opponent decides to block the card, the -1/-1 counter will effectively get out of control and kill pretty much anything in a few turns.
Cards that may need an explanation
Titan Forge - This card would be absolutely amazing if it did not have a cost of 3 to achieve it's first counter. There are only 2 in the deck but this is the card that for some reason is always in my opening hand, with a Thrummingbird out and a turn 3 drop. You can effectively have a 9/9 on turn 6 or so. If you are lucky enough to have the ability for multiple proliferates, look out.
Everflowing Chalice - With proliferate, this has gotten up to 26 counters before.
Lux Cannon - board control and with proliferating, you can effectively tap this each turn to destroy a permanent.
TBC. Any input is welcome, been playing for about 7-8 months and would love some input. The goal of this deck is to play control but yet have fun.
