Bear Umbra and Sword of Feast and Famine would pair well with Hellkite Charger and the other multile combat effects you have.

Thank you for upvotes and aeonstoremyliver thanks very much for suggestions. I missed this little neat combo.

Sure thing! I have yet to add Bear Umbra in my Karrthus EDH build as I don't have one.

You went the traditional Dragon build, which I dig and may borrow some ideas from. My build is a bit more toolbox/goodstuff.

I don't want to be too picky here... But wasn't Glaurung a wingless dragon?

mande: You got me there. I just considered the most badass dragon I could think of and got Glaurung. Anyway, thanks for the comment.

No problem man. Cool deck though, dragons are always a win.

I appreciate the reference, but there are no dragons in Magic on the same scale as Glaurung. If you want a more epic dragon, try Ancalagon the Black. He didn't get character like Glaurung, but when he fell, his body crushed Thangorodrim.

JexInfinite: Nice, I did totally miss this badass when reading Silmarillion. However, I think I am not the only one to whom is Ancalagon not ringing a bell, so... Also Glaurung nicely goes with a "Tyrant of something", as he tyrannized one place in particular.Thank you for the comment, though. I will totally find out more about Ancalagon.

Check out my list:http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/22-10-14-karrthus-dragons/

Its more creaturebased and less of a control deck though. One that gets deadly really quick is Utvara Hellkite, also works well with Hellkite Charger's extra attackphase.

Flamoes: I went the creature-based build, but it seemed to me after several tests as rather clumsy.
You are very easily controlled by a control deck in such build, because you basically play one spell in a turn. I changed the deck several times and tested it with my playing group. I think the deck keeps getting better.
Utvara Hellkite was of course in one of the previous versions, but it is just so expensive and in conclusion - could do nothing. Usually, if any, it produced one dragon. That is just... meh.
In most cases, the game didn't even get to puttin' Utvara Hellkite on the field as I was dying so fast, I could only think about how to get back to the game, not to find recources to play 8CMC dragon unfortunately.
Also, I think that Jund control is just so much fun, that I want to play it really really bad. Also dragons make everything better. So here it is: Dragon Jund almost-control.

It seems like Shattergang Brothers or Prossh, Skyraider of Kher would be better, because unless you are facing another dragon deck, karrthus doesn't seem very good for the deck you play. Shattergang for extra control, and Prossh for that big huge swing out.

actually come to think about Kresh the Bloodbraided would be great for your deck, you have so much removal

thenotcher: Well, I thought about all of these options actually. However, I still think that Karrthus is an ideal commander for this kind of deck.
He has haste and flying after all - immediate 7 cmdr dmg is pretty awesome.

I can concentrate on killing pretty much everything first several turns and then pull Karrthus and then again and then again... However, Karrthus's main disadvantage is pretty obvious - copying it. And/or countering it. There is Cavern of Souls and will be included in a future build, it's not enough though.

This deck has a serious trouble while playing against Geist of Saint Traft kind of decks. It just sucks against U or U/W controls or fast combos ( but that matchup has been improved since a lot of instant removal cards have been included )... Therefore it's the main goal I would like to accomplish as for now. Get more U control competitive and stay Jund fresh mint awesome.

Still, thanks very much for your comments, I very appreciate your suggestions. Maybe you know some tricks against heavy controls/combos in Jund colors?

If is really enough of a problem, and it is appearing frequently for you, consider Choke. If it resolves you pretty much win against mono unless they draw a Venser to bounce it.

Also to stop combo decks, especially extra turn ones, consider Stranglehold.

2x Restore in your decklist

maladan says... #22

Devix: Hi, it seems to be twice in the decklist but that is just because Restore has two tags.

maladan says... #23

kengiczar: Thanks for suggestions! I did think about them earlier and now again. However, both of them could use Cycling ability to be more flexible :) But just as you said - in EDH deck building majorly depends on the playing group, so I will think about this after our next play-group meeting.
