Prototype Jund Standard

Brainstorming a Jund deck idea, although it's very all over the place.

Looking at Modern Jund lists - we don't have access to Thoughtseize, Lightning Bolt, Abrupt Decay, Goyf and Dark Confidant. We can trade 1 for 1 still with a few cards that mimic these cards, but are weaker.

Thoughtseize - Despise, Duress

Bolt - Wild Slash, Atarka's Command

Decay - Kolaghan's Command, Murderous Cut

Confidant - Abbot of Keral Keep

Goyf - Well, we don't have a great substitute, but we have decent 2 CMC bodies like Deathdealer.

Our Standard deck has to be slightly more Creature-heavy, since our spells aren't as powerful and since we don't have creatures as influential as Goyf or Huntmaster, etc.

This version looks a little bit more Aggressive, trying to push out bigger creatures earlier with Rattleclaw Mystic or Beastcaller Savant, then keep up the pressure with spot removal, hand disruption, and alpha strike power with our Commands.

The creature package is a little loose, and I'm fighting for color space in here a lot. Our spells require a lot of Black and Red, while our Creatures require a lot of Green and Red. Drana seems to fit our deck with Shaman of the Great Hunt helping pump out counters and letting us draw a massive amount of cards Harmoinize style - but the double black maybe be a little iffy. We can patch this up by running the even split of lands, or by cutting Mystic for more Savants - but that leaves us dry on the mana dork front for our spells.

Sidisi is a bit of a placeholder, I feel like Nissa is what we would much rather have in her spot. This will also help us with our mana fixing issues, or finding another basic to allow our Battle/Tango lands to come into play untapped. She would also play well with the addition of Dragonmaster Outcast for the grindier games.

Another idea would but to cut the creatures that cannot immediately make a board impact - such as Rakshasa Deatherdealer and Drana - for Flamewake Phoenix. The haste/flying package is great for keeping up pressure, and the ability to recur from our Graveyard as soon as we have a 3 or 4 drop on our board is pretty solid.

I could go about the Den Protector/Deathmist Raptor route and play a super grindy match up, going heavy Green/Black and splashing Red for Kolaghan's Command, Crater's Claws, Outpost Siege and Dragonmaster Outcast. That may be the "better" direction to go in, but this one is more reminiscent of the Alara block Jund decks.
