Have you considered Neurok Commando ?

Vivisection seems out of place. The only creatures I would conceder using it on are the owls. Also, with the amount of card fixing your using, treasure hunt might be worth having. It's a little awkward, but with the right timing and a little scrying, you can often draw three to five cards for two mana.

Neurok commando was initially a fav. but he never gets in, used him mostly to chump block.

As for Vivisection, good point, might add a few other spells instead,

Thanks for the Feedback!

Temple Bell and Runed Servitor are pretty good with Consecrated Sphinx and Psychosis Crawler . Runed Servitor helps with a little more board presence, and draws cards. Temple Bell at the end of your opponent's turn for a while, then when you just need one spell to win, you can start tapping the bell on your own turn. With Consecrated Sphinx in play, you draw 3 cards per Temple Bell activation...if it's a duel and not 3+ players. Temple Bell can surprise an unwary opponent by raising the Psychosis Crawler 's power and toughness at instant speed.

RE: Neurok Commando : a few more counters or Into the Roil might help him get through. Or Distortion Strike , which has rebound to boot.

Temple Bell is definately going in. i used Disperse instead of Into the Roil to get rid of zendikar.

Neurok Commando is cool with Distortion Strike but that takes up too many cards in my deck for the small amount of damage and card draw.

Thanks!!

Distortion Strike doesn't work with Neurok Commando , shroud prevents it targetting.

However Scroll Thief it would work with.

Mildly curious, how is Distant Memories working out for you? I haven't really considered it that good a card.

Distant Memories is by far one of my fav. blue cards of all time. it allows me to mind trick the opponent by showing him a card that he thinks i need, then by exiling it, i draw into 3 other usefull cards, obviously when Psychosis Crawler is in, this becomes a huge help.

Re: Neurok Commando : Oops. Shroud. Duh. RE: Into the Roil : I understand preparing for Zendikar to rotate, but there're a few other cards that will all rotate out at the sametime. Anything from M11, Worldwake, Eldrazi, etc. Anyways, sweet deck. I love the Sphinx and the Crawler.

When I found that interaction, I made this deck: Phyrexian Mind Melt. Check it out, comment, advise!!

with consecrated sphinx on the field, reckless scholar is amazing. target your opponent. they draw a card then discard a card and you draw two. I love this deck idea, but i personally can't get it to work.

+1

do you have enough counters/bounce to keep your opponent at bay till you get your combo out?

i play a UG version of this with an alternate mill win condition if the crawler combo doesn't pan out.

have a look at my race you to the bottom and feel free to comment.

I'd throw in Into the Roil . It's only a common, even if it is rotating out of standard (soon-ish). Take out Disperse .

I'd also recommend more lands. The mana curve for your win-cons are pretty high, but I'm not 100% what to throw out. Perhaps Disperse , since Dissipation Field serves roughly the same purpose.

Food for thought. +1 for insane card advantage!

Thanks, ill make the change compii!

Fathermad: i do have some control/bounce to keeep him at bay, i admit that from turn 1-4 im very vulnerable. ill try to work something out. thanks

crvo: i think into the roil is a good idea.

What about -2 Psychosis Crawler for +2 Cryptoplasm ?

Cryptoplasm gets to be a Crawler, or a Sphinx depending on what you need, or in a pinch can masquerade as a Titan, and it gives you some earlier creature drops to help your board presence. I 4x this guy in my version, linked to above: Draw, Grow.

April 10, 2011 10:01 a.m.

i had him at first.. might slip him back in.

Since your focus is on the draw, how about splashing in some Divination or card:Jace's Ingenuity? Couple them with your Halimar Depths or scrying for quick gain, or to help boost your crawlers.

April 10, 2011 1:46 p.m.

well Divination is M10 , and i find card:Jace's Ingenuity to be expensive compared to See Beyond

similar to one i've been working on psychosis draw engine (cheapo).

i might consider card:Venser's Journal... only issue being that you really want the life from it a turn earlier. decent option for aggro match ups.
