Punishing Jund (Pre-Top Ban)

Legacy BRG (Jund)

Yakpoop15

Sideboard

This is the version of the deck I played a lot before Sensei's Divining Top was banned. Welcome to the "King of Fair Decks." Jund is a deck that uses the most value per card as possible. It's a grindy deck that intends to get rid of threats with targeted discard and removal while attacking with very powerful creatures like Tarmogoyf and Bloodbraid Elf. The "Punishing" part of Punishing Jund comes from the deck's use of the lock with Grove of the Burnwillows and Punishing Fire, which can help a great deal with killing opposing creatures and Planeswalkers. As for matchups, Jund does well against most "fair" decks under normal circumstances. Playing against Delver and WU Miracles is usually a fun and quite winnable matchup. These just require practice, trust me. It has an average matchup against Enchantress and Reanimator lists, as well as Combo Elves. Then, there's the dead zone of "unfair" decks. Jund's worst matchup is normally any form of Sneak and Show or Omnitell. In addition to these decks, Jund normally has a very tough time playing against Storm. The bad matches aside, Jund is a very fun deck to play. Though not very cheap, I would highly recommend playing this deck. It's a blast to play (especially in a meta with few unfair decks) and it normally does quite well. Thank you for looking at my list, and I hope this was of some use.
